Just got back home a few hours ago from ThatGuy and Gregatron's Arcade Sale.

I expected a stampede just like many guys had anticipated with a sale of this magnitude, but it was nothing like that at all. Greg and Paul are two of the coolest dudes anyone would ever meet. They planned and organized so well that it made the process very simple and easy for everyone involved. They were very generous with their time and gave every guy that scheduled a pickup as much time as he wanted to look through the warehouse. There were only about 4-6 guys there at a time so it was plenty comfortable.

Many KLOV guys will be disappointed to hear (and see) it was mainly JAMMA games and parts, but the guys had made that very clear in the beginning. Regardless, there were still gems and deals to be had and I think most guys went away with something they wanted. I drove 6 hours round trip (left at 6AM and got home at 5PM), but it was worth helping these guys out and hanging out with good company for a bit (Prairied1ll0, DPLouie, Slackmoe, etc.). It was the best part of the whole day. I consider my pickups the cherry on top.

So I just want to say a big thanks to Paul and Greg for doing such a great job and making my first "Warehouse Raid" a successful and most enjoyable one. :D

P.S. This was just the warehouse, they have more games and stuff at the house and possibly more games coming. Still a good amount of machines, boards, parts and art left. I'm sure the guys will be re-listing items and posting new items as they go through them. Go to their thread for more updates and details: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=150733

Great Fun today.

A big thanks to Paul and Greg.

6 hours of driving.

Raiding, testing, chatting etc...
Would love to do it again with these dudes!

I wish I wasn't on such a schedule...

5'x9' trailer. It would fit 6 cabs if I forced it.

best moments
5) wico NOS leaf ball top. in a pile of joysticks.
4) testing my own boards and getting a better deal on them.
3) standing around with the other guys trying to figure out what the z-clone cabs were all about and how they work.
2) coodinating with eseyo1 via android phone gchat on the drive to run into each other on the highway on the way to the warehouse.
1) greg and paul staring at each other wondering if they should let me keep the mound of quarters they found in a cab I claimed.

answer to #1

In reaction to #1, let me just say that you owe Greg and I a Chipotle burrito when you come down next month!

Jess and Jonnie,

Thanks for the kind words. Had a great time too!

But my real questions is: how do you like your special book? Is it near your toilet yet?

I've met the REAL "Art Farkas" and many of you have not!

It's in our guest bathroom as I type this! My wife and I flipped through it before I put it in there and were LOL. :D

Hey guys, thanks for all the props. I just got home, not a bad 14 hour day. Yeah, I hope everyone is happy with their purchases.
I wanna thank all the guys who came out today. I met a few dudes I hadn't met before, also good to see the dudes that I already know. Johnnie/Jess thanks for schooling us the JAMMA stuff. (These guys are JAMMA Jedi masters). Glad you guys are happy. I'd also really like to thank DP Louie, this guy showed up, and after Paul and I realized that we both had to leave for a bit we asked if he minded babysitting the warehouse, which he kindly agreed to. I didn't think about it at the time but we owe you one Greg, thanks dude! (I can't believe I hung out with you for a few hours and still never found out what the hell DP stands for)
anyway, thanks again to everybody that showed up, awesome day!

One more thing, Johnnie, it is mandatory that you start a restore thread on that marble/gumball mini pin. That thing is awesome!
2nd best quote of the day. "That thing better be at CAX next year!"

I already drilled the lock out and cracked it open. It may be the only pin I ever really own.
I shoved a philips into the side with the missing lever and was able to play. Its kind of interesting as you alsay get gum but are trying to win the marble. Who cares about a marble? I'm looking at trying to get better prizes for it. I don't know how to open its playfield though. I need more time to muck with it.

$5 in quarters... and slugs. No I didn't eat any of the gum.

Yeah, that would be awesome. I hope you're able to find that missing piece to get it 100%. Definitely a sweet pickup. There's a candy shop/diner in Castro Valley called Knudsen's Ice Creamery that has about 2-3 of these if I remember correctly. Probably newer, but they practically have the same type of play.

In a mad scramble to fix my truck for next weekend. :) Hopefully there are some parts/art/boards to pick through when I get there. I'm another JAMMA freak.

So were all the Z-Back-ish cabs just Z-Clones? Nothing wrong with that, I just mis-tagged them on the original thread. :p

Edit: Gumball pinball is awesome.

Prairied: is GT still associated with 1up? I did some freelance articles for them a couple years ago. Before the UGO buy out (noticed your shirt). :)
