Sorry for all the text... you can skip to the pictures if you want.

Well, I saw this thing on Craigslist a few weeks back, but I was super broke. The asking price of $200 was out of my range.

I posted it here, in the CL section, hoping someone could save it.

With it, was a sad little picture, and a description saying "it doesen't work, but it could be an easy fix, as easy as a light bult or something"

So, after a few days, someone here said they went and picked it up. I was glad to see someone I could at least contact got it.

He then said he only got it because he got such an amazing deal on it. So, I sent him a PM about it. Within a few days, we had a deal struck. It all worked out smoothly, and I picked it up today!

so... here it is:

Oh yeah.... and that thing about it being an easy fix? I'll say...

NICE!! You know what they say...getting a vector is a dick erector! Yeah, that'll probably be someone's sig at some point....:p

Thanks everyone. This is kind of my first "score" thread, too.

What did you do to get it working?

Short answer?
Nothing more than plug it in

Long answer?
The back door on it is very loose, and the coin door wouldn't shut all the way without force. I don't think most people realized that this had those security features. So, I plugged it in and stood in the back with the door off while my wife was in front. I made her close the coin door (using a bit of force) and I held the back door button.

I heard noise coming out of it, and I was thinking, "sweet, it plays blind" but then when I asked if the screen did anything, she said it did, and started playing it... I was soooo happy...

Haha! Aweome, but even more awesome that you basically had to do very little to get it working.I don't own a vector, but they are pretty sweet.Maybe i'll find one for a good price someday.

Nice. Love those stories!

Nice grab! Once I get the room, I'll own one of these cabarets someday...

Awesome story!!!

I got a supposedly dead vector game working just by pulling the interrupt switch. I was stoked!!!

I would LOVE to have one of those in my collection - congratulations - great score and great story.

Congrats on the score. It was nice of you to hold the interlock switch IN so your wife could watch, if you pulled it OUT you both could have watched! Lol.
Congrats again, I love my asteroids....
