Just picked it up this morning. Cabinet and side art are in very good condition. Very few minor dings/scratches - unnoticeable unless you really examine it. Marquee is excellent. Control panel has original silkscreen and looks great. The buttons are a little yellowed, but that's fixable. Bezel has a few scratches in the lower left-hand corner, but very good overall. Minor burn on the screen, but completely tolerable. Need to make some minor horiz/vert tweaks. Very pleased :D

All I need now is Pole Position and Champ/Super Sprint...

Yep, I miss the hell out of my Asteroids too. I only got rid of it when I bought a Deluxe. They did get to hang out together for a little while, so there is that.

Yeah, I'd been seeing several ADs around, but I just never cared for that as much. Glad I found an original.

Oh, that old thing? It's better than ever with a little love and a Multi kit! ;)

OP- Awesome pick up!!!!

What Multi kit do you have? I've seen a lot of chatter about multis w/ Asteroids and Lunar Lander. Does anyone know if that has happened or is it going to? That would be a pretty sweet option. I'm mostly stoked that this bad boy (unlike most of my pick-ups) can slide right into the line-up without me having to do a stinkin' thing to it.

Very nice. Mine has the original silkscreen cp as well, but its missing a good sized chunk out of it. I also have AD. Love em both. Congrats!

awesome, I picked up an AD last weekend which was also my first vector.

Where'd you get this one at? I've seen a handful of them on CL the last few weeks, wondering if this is one of them.

Congrats Steve! I wish I knew you were looking for one.......... I have a super nice one I have been thinking about selling. O'well.

Very nice! I miss my Asteroids.

I was just going to say the same thing, in the late 80's, our game distributor gave us an Asteroids for Christmas one year (the arcade down the street got Space Invaders) after having it for years it stopped working, (in the early 90's it sure wasn't as easy to find parts and repair info) so it sat in our house broken, until we moved to New York, when we decided that we just couldn't take it with us, Ended up giving it to friends who got it working again. Wish I still had it!

There was one posted on CL back in Dec that I just happened to find a few weeks ago by searching for "asteroids" - the ad didn't have "arcade" in it. Guy was asking $450. I went to look at it Fri and it was in great shape except that it had a repro CPO - other than that it was super nice. Asked what he'd take for it and he was firm at $450. :(

I had found another one recently posted on CL for $500 and had arranged to look at it today. In the course of emailing the guy I told him I probably couldn't go higher than $300 for it. First he said no - then a few hours later he says he'll take $300 and deliver it. I told him I was looking at another one first. I honestly didn't think his would be in as good condition as it was, so I snagged it when I saw it this AM.

Thanks, man. Wish I'd known too. You don't happen to have a Pole Position or a Championship Sprint do you? :D

asteroids

love the look and play of asteroids. of course i had to have asteroids deluxe, never thought about putting them together for some reason cause the cabinets so different. either these machines hold up or atari made alot of them cause they are always popping up for sale.

Nice pickup. I wish I could find a cabaret — It has such a great cab shape, and I'm not a huge Missile Command fan.

Great game, though I'm actually way better at Deluxe for some reason; probably that I own one.
