The UPS man just showed up with the Soldering station I ordered from MCM. This is the first station I have bought. I figured for less then $50 with shipping I would give it a try, I don't solder very much and figure this will work for what I do. I seems to get hot fast, I had it plugged in for about 30 sec and it was pretty hot. Has anyone else used one of these? Here are some picks.

I use the kitchen bar too as a work station. I have the same soldering station except mine is made by atten. I love it, it works better than most of the stations twice its price.

Glad to hear other people on here have used this , or one like it. The kitchen is just where I had room to take the picks. When I get at I will have it in my garage. Anyother time I soldered I just used a TV tray.

No love for the kitchen repairs, huh? The island in my kitchen is my work area, I've fixed tons of stuff there.

Reason #1 I don't work in my kitchen any more. Long time ago when I was a mere novice collector, I set a Space Duel boardset on my kitchen stove on the coils and blew out all the RAM due to a short (apparently there is a charge in the stove coils even when they are "off.")

So, long story short, no more kitchen work and I now have a gas stove.
