It definitely needs sides, they're all messed up in the corners and the base is missing. It gives a bit when you push on it from the side. It's all original inside though, someone swapped the Nintendo board out for the Crime Fighters board. I'm going to restore it back to original and find a cabinet to put crime fighters in.

The sides and base don't look so hard to do, my father in law is a retired carpenter so I'm sure he'll help me out. should I take the monitors out when I do the sides or let them hang? I'm not sure about the front though, that looks tricky to replace. Bondo and a full cabinet decal? I planned on a full decal anyways.

Personally, I prefer to take everything out of the cabinet to do cabinet work as to not mess up the innards. It's excessive, but that how I like to do it. I would suggest looking at covering the cabinet in vertical grade laminate over a vinyl decal if you are planning to stay with the gray color.

It's not perfect but I'm happy with how it came out. I added some bracing inside connecting the floor and the back, that took all the flex/wiggle out of it.

Awesome cab. I was tempted to pick this one up. Looks like it would have been too big of a project atm though

Should turn out good

You saw it on craigslist too? I ended up talking the guy down to 350, a tad higher than I wanted to pay but still fair enough.

I'm not gonna replace the full sides, I saw a post on here where a guy just cut off the tops and bottoms and put new sections in with a biscuit joiner. With that, some bondo and paint it'll be a nice garage beater.

Yea, saw it on CL. 350s not too bad for the cab since it's kinda a rare one. You doing a vs game on each side? That's what I was gonna go for. Mario theme on one side and Castlevania on the other

Good luck!

I have one of those cabs (used to have two, but sold the other one awhile back)...lots of fun. Mine has a Vs in one side and PC-10 in the other. Remember, you can do the few 4-player Vs games in there too!

It's on hold for a while until I get some more tools. I'm gonna replace the top and bottom sections on each side with new pieces and attach em with biscuits. I'm not sure if I'm gonna do paint or laminate. It's nice having the new base on there and not bricks with books. I used a 2x6 so it's slightly taller than stock but it plays nice.
