my first post...and my first project HELLO!

Does anyone know the connector pin size for the 9 pin connectors for p3 and p4 on this game?

I have an empty cab w/ a 25in wg in it, and a 4 player cp. Im looking to get the wiring all set up in it so he can just pick it up, plug in his board, and be good to go with all 4 players.

First I've seen this thread - heh, never look in the restoration section :)

The picture tube does look pretty bad, especially if you have pins broken off. If they're all there, just bent (remember, not all positions are used), you can straighten them out and plug it back in to the neck board, being mindful of the orientation. The plastic keyway is broken, but that's not a big deal.

The bent pot on the neckboard can be easily straightened. Despite the unusual mounting of the chassis, it looks OK. Definitely fixable.

Worst case, you need a new picture tube - the K7000's swap pretty easily with television sets, so be on the lookout for a 25" TV.

If you want to do some testing, you can just unplug the monitor's power cable for now, and run the game without it, you should be able to coin it up and hear it play.

That game was supposed to be a 4 player game, but as you can see, there are only two sets of controls. The cabinet you have is a conversion. It's pretty common for operators to take a game that's not earning, and convert it in to something else. In this case, they took a Data East cabinet, and stuffed Wrestlefest in there. That's also why the marquee looks so... generic. If you want to play 4 players, you'll probably need to find a larger cabinet. Also, as others have pointed out, it was supposed to have a 19" monitor originally. Someone shoehorned a larger one in there, and since it didn't fit, they cut a hole in the back of the cabinet. It's definitely a hackjob of a game, and most people probably wouldn't bother with it. MAME away - you're not destroying anything.

If you do part it, save the boardset, since that's what actually plays the game - it can be plugged in to any JAMMA cabinet and used. The picture tube is probably a loss, but save the chassis, yoke, and the the frame - you can use those parts to build a working monitor using a TV tube. The power supply is also probably good, and save the isolation transformer - which is needed to power any arcade monitor.

If you're wanting to play with MAME, this is the perfect candidate for a cabinet, really.

If you're willing to learn about electronics, that monitor is definitely fixable. If you wanted to, you could repair it, and get the cabinet usable again.

hey guys, sorry for th elack of replies, I've been swamped with work. Heres an update on the machine:

Thanks to silentninja, I'm going to get this game back up in running. We are still working out the details of the setup, but it should look just fine.

As for that mother (fill in the blank) pos cabinet, it's going to become a MAME (since all thats left is the cabinet and messed up monitor).

I'll make sure I post some pix of the Wrestlefest once it's up and running, as for the MAME I'll probably toss a cpl pix of it up in the main forum (and no I'm not gunna make a monstrosity of a system, 2 six button controllers should do it for me :p lol)
