my first post...and my first project HELLO!

Really..its not a big deal.. I would post in the 'Wanted" section looking for an empty 4 player cab. You might spend around 50 bucks or so and that would solve your problems real quick.

Buddy, you've got tube issues. Even IF that tube's not necked (meaning 'broken') and IF you can get the pins bent straight again and IF you can get the neckboard back on again, you'll never be able to keep a tight fit to keep the neckboard from falling off again. Not to mention the potentiometers on the neck board (white adjustment knobs) are pretty bent up.

Start looking for some free 25" tube TV's. You have a tube swap in your future.

Anyone live near this guy that can give him a hand?

You know we should ask him, What kind of car do you drive and can you pick up a cab if it shows up?
You need to drill out the lock so we can point you in the right direction on getting another tube if this one is no good. Not all 25" monitors are the same model.

Stick around keep asking question and learn to do this yourself and you will have fun with your new hobby.

I drive a lil granny mobile, but I've got access to a van, so I can squeeze it in the back. Idk, half tempted to chalk this one up to stupidity, tear out the board, and toss it on the bay...I'm running out of ideas and patience for my first "unique fixer-upper"

Post in the general arcade discussion. Introduce yourself there and just ask if there are any fellow KLOV members that live nearby. Its one of the few sections everyone reads on a regular basis.

Yeah..if you look closely..the pins are bent the plastic looks a bit melted and the adjustment pots are damaged. I think the easiest course of action is to find an empty 4 player cab with a monitor and just put the game guts in it.

so it worked when you got it, but now it looks liek that? Did you lay it on its back or hit it with the dolly?

Ouch. That sucks you are so far upnorth, im not sure how much arcade related stuff will pop up for you. You might have to either drive far or pay for shipping

You have to at least try putting the neck board back on and straightening the pins.

Lay a smack down on the neck and board and super fly it back on there!

Otherwise, the game will sit there broken for who knows how long.

Even if the neck board is loose once on, you can silcone it back to the tube and hold it in place.

If I was closer to you, I would help you...

Welcome to the site and there are plenty here that can and will help!

I'm in Oakland County, near Rocherster Hills.

ok guys...I wanna bounce an idea off of you guys. I know this may sound like total heracy, but I'm planning just in case this isn't a simple "plug in and go" fix. I was inspecting the cabinet, and its got some major structural issues, the woods splitting, it was modified to take a diff sized monitor, the back needs to be completely replaced, the list goes on. IF the monitor doesn't work, I can't afford another one right now...and I'm not putting a computer monitor in there for a restore that I want to be legit. So...tell me what you think of this...and if I'm being stupid tell me...

I've been reading about MAME cabinets. Yes, I know, theres so many terrible ones, but with such a crappy cabinet I think I could turn it into something USEABLE since I don't want to use it in my restore. Ive got the majority of the parts needed to do a MAME (minus the adapters to run the controllers, but I can get those), and I think I could make a nic elooking machine with it.

Any ideas?
