Ok so I picked up my first pinball, and Yes I don't know all the lingo yet. I just figured out what the hell an Outhole was.

Anyways, game played fine at previous owners house. get it home, and setup. Now the majority of the solenoids do no function. The Bumpers seem ok, flippers good I think those have a seperate board.

Like I said I'm still trying to get a feel for where everything is on this thing.

I'm hoping I just jarred something loose on the trip home. I'm currently reseating connectors, but haven't been successful.

Ran the solenoid self test, nada. Just the bumpers.

Anyone with Ideas?

All the help you will need...

Better than any manual is Clay's Repair Guides, here is the link for System 11 games:

http://www.pinrepair.com/sys11/index.htm

First check all of the connections on the boards in the backbox, one of them may have come loose. Then check the fuses, you will need to pull them out and check them with a meter to make sure that they are good. This will also allow you to verify that they are the right value for the location that they are in.

Pinbot is a great game, good luck getting it working again.

pinbot

Check the backbox you might have a loose cable of a Fuse went that controls them.

BTW Pinbot was my first Pin I love it and still own it!

Thanks Geese that site will come in handy. It's not that I'm new to repair, just to pinballs. I have repaired tons of Arcades, but the only experience I have with Williams is Stargate, and Pinballs.. Well I know they have silver balls. I'll pick it up pretty quick once I start learning what the overall stuff is.

Found a loose fuse holder for the solenoids. So that's all good. I need to find parts for the vortex 100k switch now. Looks like the trip lever is missing, so I'll need to start trying to figure out how to get all that apart. But I'll save it for when I replace all the rubbers, and clean the play field.

There are only a few Pinballs I like. I'm mainly an Arcade guy. But Pinbot was the first Pin I played with Multiball, and I loved it. That and Bride of Pinbot. Never had the chance to play Jackbot. The only other Pin I like is Funhouse.

The newer stuff with the LED screens don't appeal to me. And the action of the older EM's is slow. I've always wanted a Pinbot, and I finally found the one I was looking for.

It's got a few small problems, but the main things I was looking at, was playfield wear, and broken plastic. The playfield is a bit dirty, and the only real wear spot I could find was up at the top right under the Bride plastic.

So I think it was a pretty decent deal at $850

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

I have a Jackbot and Bride of Pinbot. My uncle has a Pinbot, so between the two of us we have the full trilogy.

Congrats on the machine, it's a great game!

Ok, so I got to looking at the switch for the 100k points on the vortex.

Looks like someone removed the switch wire, and the wire gate. It's the b-11155 part assy.

So where can I find these parts, my searches haven't turned up anything. Or is this something I'm going to have to make.

I've found several switch wires, that look like they might work with a little bending and cutting. But the wire gate seems to be a bit of a problem.

I've looked at a ton of these so far, but nothing seems like it's the right one.

The one that's missing looks like it should be the same shape as the one that's there. I'm going to need those plastic washers too. :( Why would someone steal this part? UGH

I'm very jealous... definitely want a Pinbot. Has been a looongtime desire of mine (nearly 20 years). Now I'm torn on whether I save up for a sit-down racer game that I want or if I keep saving in hopes of magically having the cash for a Pinbot when one comes up for sale locally.

Called Marco, they haven't stocked it in years.

Same problem.
Try pinball resource....

Seems like the ones I find, they want to sell me the whole vortex ramp, for som rediculous price. I'm not paying $150 for a piece of wire.

So I went to the local Hobby shop, picked up some high tensel wire in the correct diameter, and got to bending. Took me about 1 hour, but I got it made, and it's pretty darn close. The best part is that it works. :) I'll upload some pics when I get home.

Running through the solenoid tests, I think I have some knockers that aren't knocking, but it runs through the tests so fast that I'm not sure. I'm going to have to sit down and make a list of the ones it tests, and pay attention.

I did get around to setting it to 6 degrees on the playfield, and leveled out side to side etc.. It plays much better now.

I don't remember there being magnets just above the middle area of the flippers, and I think one near the upper right chest. Maybe a few others. Just noticed it last night, when my ball when slamming for the out hole. That Pinbot cheats.. lol

Man it sure is fun to play. I'm going to have to work on my solar shot though. I'm having a hard time shooting up that ramp, and or trying to get the energy transfer.

Now to get it cleaned up, and figure out where to put it.

Glad to hear that you're playing it. Pinbot/Jackbot are extremely fun. It's not very complex, but the shots in that game are very satisfying and I think it's one of the best skill shots every created.

Well here's the pictures of the wire gate I bent up. Still needed a little more tweaking. But it's pretty close.

Here's the switch wire.

And the plastic washer keepers
I used a hole punch on some plastic, and then poked holes with hot wire.
