Thanks to everyone who gave opinions. I decided to pickup the Rollercoaster Tycoon. The price was right, the condition is great, I love the theme (I'm a huge rollercoaster and theme park fan) and I've wanted a pin for a while now.

Had to drive about 7hour roundtrip to get it. Traffic was awful on the way down so it added an hour which sucked since we planned to go to Ground Kontrol for an hour or so before I had to pickup the pin. Since we arrived so late we got about 20 minutes there. The remodel is great but it was so packed you could barely get around.

It's in excellent shape. Upon closer examination I found some bulbs out so I'll have to fix that. I don't know if it's ever been cleaned or had the rubbers replaced. They aren't bad and the playfield is a little dirty in the nooks and crannies so I'll deal with that soon.

Overall I'm thrilled to have a pin, and my wife an daughter like it too so that's a plus! I may take the translite to the NW Pinball and Gameroom show to have John Youssi sign it.

awesome. RCT is a fun pin......i wouldn't mind picking one up for myself....it's a pin that casual players can really get into because of the fun ramps.

and i look forward to your "i picked up my second pin" thread in another month or so. yes.....it's a disease. :)

congrats, if I ever find one in the 1,500.00 range I do not think I would pass one up, looks like yours is in really nice shape, almost looks HUO.

Did I miss this one? Where was it located?

It was in Portland about 10 minutes from Ground Kontrol. He had it listed on CL about a week ago and I'd been talking about it with the seller until I picked it up on Thursday night. - Barry

Now I'm in the doghouse. I thought I was doing a good thing. I told my wife I was selling some games to pay for another game (RCT). Yesterday over lunch I told her that I had some games sold and more on the way out. She asks if I'm selling the Pac-Man cocktail with the 48-1 and I said yes I had a guy coming to get it.

She was sorta mad or more disappointed. I was shocked, I didn't think she cared at all. I didn't realize it got played so much. I told her I'd somehow get another since I didn't want to be a CL douche and back out on the deal.

She real strange part is she hasn't even asked how much the RCT cost me. I'm going with a don't ask, don't tell policy........ - Barry

I read the other messages about RCT being an average game... I finally went and looked at pics on ipdb, and I was surprised how cool it looks. I was expecting a really spartan playfield based on the comments about how simple it was.

It would be a real shame if the Pac Man cocktail were to break before it gets picked up. A real shame.

wtg Barry .. I have never played this machine but from what i have read it does'nt get alot of Love from the Pin Players .

I remember when i got my first Pin back in 1993 and i still own it to this day!

I've had it a few weeks now and I love it! The different games are fun and I really dig the animations and voices (reminds me of a theme park).

I ordered the cliffy protectors for it. I got around to installing the info hole, but haven't installed the ramp protector yet. At the NW Pinball and gameroom show I purchased a full LED kit from Cointaker. I was just going to get the flashers, but the impulse was there so I bought the kit. I got them all installed but 1 in a bumper under the left ramp (I'll do it when I pull it apart for cleaning). I was also able to get my translite signed by John Youssi.

I had some problems with multiball. It would start launching balls if I did the skill shot or the info booth. I thought it was software so I had Steph at Hobbyroms burn me the current software and that didn't fix the problem. I did some searching on the internet and found that flaky opto boards can cause problems similiar to mine.

I pulled the playfield up and ejected all the balls. I did a switch test and I could just tap and/or pull on the wires and the opto board would register.......hmmmm.

I reflowes the solder on the led's and the headers, checked all the resistors and replaced the connectors with some crimp on's I got from Dokert. I did another switch test and it was good. I've played 10 or so games and it works like it should. My first fix!

Anyway you know what one pin leads to...... For now here's a few pics. - Barry
