Just got my first pin tonight. Williams Flash. It is non-working (only way I could afford one). It is complete, and cosmetically looks pretty good. The backglass seems perfect to me, the playfield I would give a 7 out of 10. The wood is in great shape as well, maybe an 8.5 out of 10. When I plug it in, it lights up, and thats it. Right when I un-plug it I hear a blip from the machine, so I guess the speaker/sound board are working? As I will begin trouble shooting this now...any suggestions? Is there a comprehensive pinball 101 I can go through? Where should I start? What about with cleaning, since this game was made in 1979, should I refrain from using a shop vac as I don't wan everything to fall apart. Here are just a couple of cell pics.

Sigh, I wish I had that mint Xenon on CL a month ago.

Congrats. I just got my first Williams pin (Pin-Bot) as well and it will be my first shot at getting a pin working. It's definitely a learning experience....and it can get expensive with a the little bits you will need. Might be better off to buy one already shopped out! But have fun!

The guy I bought it from was named greg. It will probably cost me doble what its worth to shop out, plus time, but whateves. I feel like part of the hobby is the tear down and rebuild....its a big part of every hobby.
