started a new thread on this as i didn't want the pics to get buried in that other thread.

sooooooo, this is my first pin...been wanting one for forever. came across this one on CL and thought the price was right, so i went for it. wound up talking the guy down a little and picked it up for $300. it's in pretty good shape (IMO) for a 30 year old pin...there's some minor wear on the playfield but nothing that affects gameplay. a few lights out (or weak) here and there, but again, nothing major. i still need to clean it up, but i did plug it in for a few games so the boy could play it...it appears to be working all the way, which is a good thing as i know nothing about fixing pins. LOL.

i had never played this one before, but the reviews online sounded pretty favorable....i have to say, i'm loving the gameplay so far. very nice. and my 4 year old son absolutely loves it (which makes it that much better)!!!

anyway, here's a few pics:

Awesome, man.

I've got a major itch to pick up a classic Stern pin, but I need to wrap up some other projects first. Still, if one comes along at the right price, I'll be all over it.

$300 and working, cant beat that.
$300 and working and looks good, That's a great deal.

Enjoy!

thanks, fellas. i'm really pleased with my first pin purchase.

and yes, andy....i can assure you it's in a good home. i may not know crap about repairing stuff, but i can promise you my games are "cared for" (for lack of a better term).

That looks like a pretty awesome pin. Looks like lots of stuff happening up at the top of the playfield. It's in fantastic shape too, looks like it recently had a new rubber kit installed. What year is it? I have a Stern STARS that i play sometimes, but in all honesty it's not the most exciting pin, that one looks to have way more happening. Congrats on your first pin, may it bring you years of enjoyment.

thanks, bud....it is in pretty good shape considering the age (in my less than expert opinion :) ). but it does need a new "rubber kit" - some of the rubber band thingies are starting to dry rot (i realize it's not visible in the pics). but i figure that's a pretty easy fix.....found a set online at a site for around $18 or so.

it's a 1980 pin, to answer your question.

and yeah, i think there's lots of stuff happening on the playfield......i was a little worried at first since i had never actually played this one, but i have been very pleasantly surprised at the level of play. it's very fun so far, granted in limited play time. i basically set it up and let my son play it right away, even though it needs a good cleaning......figured it really wouldn't hurt anything (though i do plan on unplugging it and giving it a good once-over this weekend).

the upper left portion of the plalyfield is really cool, IMHO......it has a unique ball-lock feature and a pretty difficult 3-ball multiball, which should add to the replayability.

but again, thanks to everyone that has given me the "thumbs up" on my first pin purchase....i'm loving it so far and it really seems to be a fun pin overall. lots of things happening, lots of shots to make, and a pretty fast play....

thanks, guys!

Your Flight 2000 looks great and the price was definately good. I am sure you will enjoy this pin for a long time.

I think it looks awesome!! I know I'm wrong, but I like those more obscure
pinball/video games....so everything doesn't have to be Twilight Zone:)

Gratz!

My daughter is starting to show some interest in my Sorcerer pin, and it always gets played at birthday and holiday parties. What amazes me about pins is they always manage to bring out a past interest someone once had in them, and usually someone you'd least expect!

Also, if you ever have anyone over to your house who isn't a real big arcade game player, chances are you'll see them drift over to the pinball machine.. There is something magnetic about them. :D

Enjoy!

When I had Charlie's Angels, some folks would play the crap out of it, while others (mostly younger folk) would avoid it. I couldn't ever put my finger on why though. Sometimes I think it was because they were afraid of breaking it. Other people just didn't understand it.

Put a newer DMD pinball in there, and everyone will play it. You don't have to understand anything to play a DMD pinball. You have to have an understanding of rules to play older SS and EM games. IMO, older games have the greater long term replay value.
