My first pickup of 2012.... Actually it was shipped!

I've been saving up for this one for awhile and it finally arrived yesterday...

LOTR pinball!

now this one is used, not huo, but still in really nice condition. i was just so happy it arrived in one piece and included the original box too! the seller replaced the balrog motor, shopped it out, and its playing great. im not the greatest pin player, but damn im having fun with this game so far. just stoked to have another pin so my other pin doesnt feel so lonely :) oh and the wife loves it too (so thats a big bonus).

big thanks to alpha-tron for helping me setup the pin and helping me fix some cades too! chris

thanks jess. yeah, i had to let go of my assault to make room for the pin. but it was well worth it. you are more than welcome to stop by next time you're over at the magic kingdom!

ohhh... just updated my vaps :) thanks for the reminder.

LOTR is awesome! Nice pickup!

Now go update your VAPS list. :)

Nice!!! I'm shopping for my first pin (Black Hole, Doctor Who and a few others) and very concerned that "one pin will not be enough".

:)

one pin will not be enough! I just got my first pin a month ago and am getting my second one next week! Pins are more addicting than arcades imo!

So what is going to be your next pin endofline? :)

ohhh.... good question :)

id love to have a nice minty BK2K or maybe a zombie pin (if stern makes that theme next, im there!)

just gonna try to enjoy lotr first, then start saving for the next one. haha... it never ends.

This is going to be the next machine I buy... Can I ask what you paid for it, so I know what to expect? Also, do you know the differences between the standard and LE versions?

Jealousy and rage are all I feel right now.

Maybe one day I can pawn off enough of my stuff to afford a LOTR. It's my grail pin. I was jealous of all the people with Tron LE's....until I played LOTR. I love Tron, and it's a great game too, but completely different beast.

thanks bro for the props! hmmmm.... that might be a good trade in a year or so... or maybe the lotr for your entire star wars collection ;) (including the sw pin too) hehe...

QUOTE=ThatGuy;1985903]Very nice! How about in a year from now we make a trade for my Theatre of Magic??!! Ha ha.[/QUOTE]

Very nice! In my top 3 of all time. That game is so deep it takes about 4hrs to finish it :)

Nice pickup.

Some common mods, look up Path of the Dead divert mod, get the cliffy protectors for gimli/gollum hole, protector for the one near the tower. Balrog LED, it takes a lot of hits so the filament tends to break on normal bulbs. Ring imbedded in the shooter Rod is cool. backbox flasher on the eye mod.

I also have the stronger flipper coils from PBL, because by the time you get to DTR (destroy the ring) the coils may have heated up and get weaker and it's difficult to pop the ball out of the ring.

Other than that the game is perfect.

I'd say 2500-3000, give or take a few hundred for a well routed machine. 3000+ to 4000 for a HUO (depending on a lot of factors). I'm not sure about the LE.

thanks for the mod info lou! def gonna get some of those protectors to make the game last longer and get it all bulletproofed. the stronger flipper coils sounds like a plan too.

tanx for the props fizgig .... would love to have a collection like yours someday :)
