If any of you saw my thread from last Friday, you saw that I finally struck a deal to trade away my Red Tent. I picked up this Robotron cab that houses a JROK Multi-Williams PCB in exchange:

Robotron is easily the coolest Williams cab (IMO), and the multi kit is amazing. For my $, Robotron, Joust, and Bubbles will be the games that get played the most. I love the easy to navigate menu too. JROK gets thumbs up from me on this kit. As far as the cab goes, she needs bondo work, and new stencils but she's solid and thats what matters. The CPO looks brand new, and all the buttons are nice, too. First and foremost though, I need to get some 4" wico sticks in there to make Robotron feel better. I did put up a 210K score with the 3.5"s but its just not the same.

My thoughts on these games -

Defender - Defender is pretty cool when played in arcade form. Im terrible though.

Stargate - see above

Robotron - flat out amazing. The real reason to own this PCB.

Joust - rocks. I played a handful of Joust games, and even managed a 110K score. Not bad for someone who never played this BITD.

Bubbles - love it. I owned a Bubbles cab at one point, and hated having to let it go. Bubbles is awesome, but will take some getting used to without the optical stick.

Splat! - Splat! is cool. I only played 2 games, but enjoyed it. I look forward to spending more time with it.

Blaster - WTF? Someone needs to explain to me what to do.

Sinistar - Hard. "Beware I live" was pretty effing cool to hear though :)

Overall, I'm pumped to have this part of the lineup, and I thank Sav again for the easy transaction. Andy is good people, for sure.

good to see you have a robotron in your midst again, jow! it's definitely the game i play the most on my multi williams. splat is a lot more fun than people claim, imho. i think my top score on it right now is around 59k.

blaster wise, hard to explain. basically you follow the screen instructions and try to stay alive. i haven't figured out yet if there is a way to get your shields back or what not, and it's tough to stay alive in that game. the key is getting through the robot grid without getting hit and always hitting the red ship first in the vampires level, from what i can tell. i've played a bit of it but it's real hard.

Congrats Jow. I have to admit that Blaster is by far my favorite game and have made it to Paradise (the final level if you will) 2 times in one game.
The only thing you need to know is don't get hit and the further into the game you make it. The objective is to make it to Paradise.
Otherwise you collect space guys for points and multipliers at the time tunnel level. You also collect the (I forget H or W or R??) letter on the one level you're chasing ships and it replenishes your shield.
I won;t get into how to get higher scores but I've found starting the game on the second harder level allows you to get to Paradise quicker when you get good enough.

By far that was my favorite game.

Congrats Jow; great addition. I'd love to have a Robotron someday; all of the other games are just a bonus.

The jrok board is awesome

It really is. I thought about going the Arcade Shop route, but figured these 9 games are enough. Besides, those other games aren't really Williams games, so whats the point? Williams games are fun, period. You really cant beat the JROK PCB.

Looks in awesome condition, congrats! I just picked up a Ms Pacman and Dracula Pinball machine over the past two weeks!

Excellent trade!! JROK did an excellent job on those PCBs, when he runs them again I will be sure to get one. Let me know if you need a set of Robotron Stencils, I have them sitting and I will never use them (Pr0k's). I'll give ya a great deal :)

Nice pickup Jow! Being a fellow SoCaler, I love multigames as space is always an issue. Are you able to add Moon Patrol or Make trax to the JRok pcb?

Tom

Wow a straight up trade of your Red Tent for a Multi-Williams? Man that makes me seriously think about seeing what kind of trade I could get for my Red Tent. :D It's not that I don't like it at all, but I could see getting more use out of something else.

In fairness, my Red Tent had 5 complete PCB's (so 10 games total). It was one of those situations that just worked out :)

That makes all the difference. The PCBs add a lot of value to that trade. Red Tents can be a tough sell on their own.

I still think you did well.

Agreed. The PPUs are a pain in the ass to find to complete chipsets. Hell, I sold an extra PPU a little while back for $40 by itself.
