I had the pleasure of purchasing 3 excellent shape, fully working arcade machines today.

They are:

-Pole Position II
-Defender
-Zaxxon

I got the lot for $700 which I think is a pretty good price, especially in AZ where every game for sale seems to be overpriced and in bad shape.

Has anyone seen a non wood grain Zaxxon like this? It doesn't seem to be painted over at all, it's like they used plain brown laminent instead of the wood grain.

I'm totally stoked to add them to my Pac-man, Crystal Castles, and Galaga in what will be an eventual 1980-1985 themed arcade. Now to move all of these upstairs to the loft where they will join the others...

I think you got a great deal. They look in great shape! I love the look of your Zaxxon more then my wood grained one. I have considered painting it all black. :)

I picked up a Zaxxon the other day which was converted into a Hypersports. It has the exact same brown sides. Its a ugly conversion with a horrible button layout and kitchen cabinet handles in place of the coin doors.

Nice stash of games...now comes the fun part....playing with them!

I have seen brown sega cabs as well. There was a Congo Bongo in one at an auction I went to earlier this year.

How do I go about doing this? I'm a complete newb to the hobby and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to everyone for the congrats :)

Finding a work pp is a relatively hard find...and to keep one running for over a month could be hard too!Great finds!

I have watched Pole Positions just continue to develop more and more problems as I repair them. I ended up with six sets of boards and was able to piece together two working sets between them. One of the two working sets lasted 45 minutes before breaking, the other has been solid.
