Picking it up tomorrow....

Of all "closed" jukeboxes I find this the most beautiful one.

Its playing fine, the only issue it has is that it sometimes forgets a selection. Acc. to the seller pressing a button starts it up again.
Any suggestions ?

Pics tomorrow...

Thanks Ken, excellent link !

Uploading pics and video as we speak....

It has some issues but at least plays.... :)

OK....some beginner questions:

- the singles seem to start "too early". That is...when the needle hits the record it already is playing music. Seems I need to adjust it to start a little more towards the outside of the singles.
- do I need to unbolt any transport bolts ? My brother-in-law mentioned this (he helped transporting it and owned two jukeboxes in the past).
- can I play singles with only a small hole in the center ? When I look at the clam[ it does look like that should work (there seems to be a small pin and right next to that is the bigger center "hub") but I'm scared to damage something if I'd try.

Yes... There is a small bolt/nut that you would adjust in or out to determine landing position. I highly recommend Ron Rich's mechanism guide.

I believe you do want to unbolt those. If I'm not mistaken, they keep the transport still... And you want it to be "bouncy" so the mech doesn't sound like its slamming into a wall when it reverses

You are exactly correct. It will play both sizes. The question is, are they 45rpm or 33? If 45, you'll want to disable autospeed, if 33, autospeed should automatically slow the turntable down for records with small holes.

I have the same box and love it! Have fun with it.

Video: (Don't forget to switch to 1080p !)

I'll make another video recording sound with a great quality condensation microphone next week, the video cam's mic's don't do it justice ;)

Anyone got an idea where the tone controls are located on this one ? Imremember the seller showed me but cant seem to find them now....

And Ken, yes Ill get that book, but I'd like to adjust the tones now please :)

Not sure on your model, but on the older Seeburgs you open the back door and the bass and treble knobs are on the amplifier (which is on the back door).

If I remember correctly, they are on the Amplifier. I think there is a couple 3-way switches for HI-MED-LO. I believe they are located on one of the sides of the amp, not the top where you would expect them to be.

Exactly, found them and they are on the backside...they sound scratchy....no wonder...no problem will rebuild the entire amp later.

Does anybody have an idea how to remove the front ? I want to restore the artwork using filters that are normally used for stage lighting.

Also, any tips what needle I need to order for this one ?

Yup, it's yellow and that sure is the one, thanks !

Anyone got an idea if its posible to remove the front "glass" without completely disassembling the entire box?

I just bought a USC-2 Firestar Bandshell. I think the Bandshell style is really clean and "70's modern." Yours looks great

Thanks ! Yeah I really like the USCs. IMHO the best looking of the closed jukeboxes.

Happend to spot a Firestar in an episode of King of Queens that was on here just now....:)

There's a guy in the US that repro'ed the front glass, the menu displays (left side and right side) for the USC1 and USC2.

I'm also trying to figure out how the front upper screen (the grill on the upper part with the 'seeburg' in the lower right corner. Mine is really dirty and stained so I want to refinish it.
