(that's what she said)

anyway... Here is the Mini Neo Geo I picked up on Thursday.

I'm not getting any responses from the monitor right now, but I've ruled the PSU is bad. I threw a computer ATX supply in from my test rig, and it plays blind.

I picked this up from DJW90, in trade for my Asteroids Cabaret. I'm super stoaked about it, and I can't wait to get it fully running.

I'm a big guy... I like how small it is.

Looks like you may need to add a floor pillow to the arcade list to play that thing without destroying your back. I'm 6'4" and my back is cringing at the 3rd picture. :) Neat pickup!

That's how tall I am (I say 6' 5" on a good day lol) and yeah... not the most comfortable position.

Like I said though... when I'm sitting, it's perfect.

Funny thought the vast difference between letting kids play violent games today and in the 80's and early 90's. So many of the Neo Geo games are extremely bloody and violent by today's standards and here you have a cabinet specifically designed so kids can get at them easier LOL.

I never heard a kid to be influenced from haohmaru from the violent samurai showdown or from metal slug, but I heard many times kids try to mimmic gta san andreas characters,or lara croft or satanism that many first person games offer...

Don't get me started on GTA... I used to work at a game retailer before the business went under, and I swear, 90% of the people asking for GTA were either kids, or buying it for their kids.

As for the MVS... they do have some more kid friendly games. Blue's Journey came in this one... it looks kid friendly.

thats right
but neogeo is nothing for todays kids in terms of violence compared to games like gta,I would say neogeo its totally kids friendly!

Well... I just pulled the Chassis off and noticed that it has some bad solder joints... I'm going to reflow them... hope that will fix it.

They are Super Mini. I use to own one but sold it. I never played it much. It was a grail of mine when I found out they made them in that size. Bought mine at auction for 100 or 200 and sold one of the carts for 100 out of it.

Nice score- that thing looks like a toy sitting next to you! I would love to get one of those to help turn my kids on to arcades (and for me to play as well). I think my 5 year old is a little intimidated by all the huge cabs all over the basement. Anyone have one of these they want to get rid of? Otherwise I may try to find some plans for a scratch build like I have seen some other peeps do on here for their kids.

That's awesome, congrats! Been on the top of my want-list for quite some time now. Can't seem to find any around the area, or one with an owner that's motivated to sell.
