This is Las Vegas, where all things that are 'old' must be trashed and destroyed.

I was at a casino out here last week, and got into a convo with someone working the 'cade. A discussion about restoring old machines ensues (mention its a hobby I'm interested in) and he says "It's a shame, I've got a Simpsons cab I'm gonna have to throw away, all it needs is a new monitor."

Well, I wasn't gonna let THAT happen!

And I'm sure the original (most likely k7000) can be fixed for about 40 in parts. Bonus.

that's how i got my first, current and only cab. friends dad wanted it gone, i was happy to take it.

your #winning with this freebee find, it really doesn't look in bad shape.

NICE

The CPO is available for this one also if you want to restore it.

As long as that K7000 tube is good, you should be good. Is the monitor completely dead or just almost gone?

To be honest, I had to plop it in the garage and run back out. Barely had the time to snap the pic and share my excitement with you guys. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment during my short time here. And since I'm stationary where I'm at right now, I can type this from my phone (yay, nerd power!).

BTW - those Capcom cpo's arrived. They look great, thanks a bunch!

Congrats! The Simpsons is one of my favorite Konami beat 'em up games along with X-Men and TMNT. You can't beat free. :)

And your Simpsons restoration thread has provided me tons of inspiration!

Thanks for putting up with my over-enthusiasm everyone, I'm giggy like a kid on Christmas morning!

Find yourself some other PCBs like:
* TMNT TNT
* Sunset Riders
* Captain America & the Avengers

They should just plop right in and play.
Xmen would need you to drill another hole and see if your harness has the connections for S3.

I recently got Metamorphic Force and Simpsons in the mail. I just need to test the simpsons out.
Konami 4P boards are always on sale in the FS section so you just need to keep your eyes open. You can play everything but Xmen and GI Joe straight out.

Thanks. :) I had no option but to put on new art because the old was trashed. Luckily it turned out nice for being reproduction art. I can't recall seeing any NOS Simpsons side art for sale.

That is too cool! Simpsons is one of the first arcade machines I ever played in a real, public setting. I'd love to get one some day.

But man, I feel for you having to deal with that k7000. I've been there before, and I wish the best of luck to you with fixing it up.
