fwiw, i got my zip-a-doo project for $100 too. i felt the same way as the OP....it'll be fun to work on it and see if i can get it back to life, but worst case scenario, i'm out $100. no big deal.

I got 8-Ball for $75. There was a solid 1/8" of dirt throughout the insides and a 1972 tax sticker on the chunk of broken p/f glass.

I went and did all the stuff on the Clay page "Before turning the game on..." and damned if the thing didn't start right up. It didn't cost a whole lot for the pieces to make it go.

Soccer was a $100 project. Add 'score motor burned to a crisp' to list of possible problems. This thing is a mess with bolts for fuses.

Add 'rewind motor coil' to list of possible repairs.

Thanks, it's in pretty good shape. I'm in no hurry to get it running. I have to order some tools and then I'll dig into it. - barry
