My first Atari color vector game

I will have the cp for you till you can come get it. Not a problem. If you are going to come by you should bring some of the parts from the SD to test in my machine. Bring the board for sure. The problem you describe can be the board as suggested by another member but it can also be related to the power supply. If you want to bring both boards and test them that is fine. If the monitor works now it probably will not for long. I will be glad to test/fix or just give you some pointers should you want to work on it. just email me.

I think the monitor is dead from what I have observed. Figured I would rebuild the PS. Will be in contact. Thanks.

I have a working 6100 on the bench we can test your HV and deflection in if you can remove them and bring them over. That wont rule out your chasis transistors though.

Sweet deal but you do almost get scared to post what you paid for something anymore in case you ever need to sell it.

Good reason why the price police need to shut the hell up. Not that I ever had a problem with price police posts.

Here's why buying price doesn't equal selling price - hours, hours, hours, of research, work, metering, soldering, painting, moving, Bondo, sideart.......

A Space Duel for $50 can cost $500 in the long run.

And if you put the hours of work into it, $700 becomes the break even point - hell I get $2500 a day for my services in my job (not that I get PAID that much but apparently someone pays that much for me to be at their site working their software issues out) so by that math at 8 hours a day, a $200 profit on a game after materials would be less than 1 hour's work.

Bu the price Gestapo would say if you buy it for $50 non working it's worth $50 working.

Which is why most price police posts come from ignoramuses.

:eek::eek:

I would unplug the monitor at this point and leave it unplugged until its capped. Coin the machine up or just set it to free play and see if it plays blind. Check all the fuses on the power brick. If it has slip on connectors to the bridge rectifier on the bottom of the power brick make sure they are tight. Measure your +5 at the board. Reseat everything on the mother board. Order Bob Roberts $40 kit for that monitor and rebuild it and you should end up with a working game.

I personally would have no problem dropping 500 bucks on a game I wanted that you got for free, as long as it works good and is in decent shape. Something to be said for picking up a new game that does not need any real work and can be played right away

I live in a slim picking area though

Finally took the time and put my SD together late last week. Modessitt did the monitor work on it (LV2000, cap kit installed - awesome work :) ). Got a working PCB and AR II (now have a spare) from bwagner5150. Picked up a nicer CP than the one it came with (from Brentradio). New BB and bridge rectifier installed. Still need to do the AR II kit. Need to tweak the monitor settings a bit more as well. Had no green out of the box but does now. It is a thing of beauty. Let it run about 24 hours straight initially. Looking great so far.

I don't recall playing SD much BITD but like it.

Woot! I would like a space dual but whenever ones available I'm broke lol.

I played it quite a bit BITD... One of the reasons I like vectors so much. The tethered ships is certainly my favorite variation to play. Listening to all of the destruction on the four speakers just takes me back! Congrats on getting it running.

2-player really is the best way to experience SD. Like someone mentioned, the explosion sounds can rock you!

Yep. Two player is cool. One of the reasons I put all together was because I had company coming in for Halloween and wanted to have it working. :)

Finally - a picture. Have not put the better CP on yet. The current one has some cracking in places.
