Well, the night before I got on a plane to deploy to Kyrgyzstan I stumpled upon a vs Super Mario Bros game for a hundred bucks. Needless to say I went and picked it up! The cabinet is in need of some repair, the monitor is horrible and the joysticks work but could use some attention. I played it once and now my roomie gets to set all the high scores while I am gone! Lol... This is my first game and will be the one I learn on, I look forward to redeploying and work on getting it looking better!

Thanks for reading, just wanted to share!

I bought my SMB for $100 within the last year, as well!

Like others have said, thanks for serving, and keep your head down and eyes open over there! And welcome to this uber-evil hobby. You won't have just one for very long...

Thank you all for your encouraging words! I plan on coming home safely! :) I wish I could get on this site at work but alas it's locked down due to "gaming"... I thought it was a price too good to pass up, just glad the GF understood too lol. I will do more research
when I get the chance to try and figure out what I need to do about that monitor. Can the be repaired or do they need to just be replaced? I assume replacing is the best bet??thanks again and look forward to posting a couple pics, I took some before I left :)

Nice find I pick up one for free not to long ago but it needs work as well and a few chips need replace since they had super skate kids hack chips in it. Like everyone else says when you start off with one you seem to want more after that :) Good luck and Thank you for serving our country :)

Congrats on your pickup, and like others said, this is an addiction. I started with my first game, a donkey kong, in January after watching the documentary "the king of kong". I now own 11 machines, lol!

Always try fixing them first. A bit of soldering and a few dollars in parts goes a long way.

Welcome AJ- from your job, try hitting the Forum addy directly, rather than klov.com. Sometimes it will allow you through.
