So I have built my first 60-in-1 and I'm very curious about what fuse size to put in. I used Bob Roberts wiring found here (http://www.therealbobroberts.net/buildit.html) He says to put a 3 amp fuse in there and I believe him. It just made me begin to wonder how to determine the right size fuse for any typical application. For instance if I put an ammeter in-line with a circuit and read say 5 amps, is there a formula for determing what size fuse would work. A 5 amp fuse in this example would likelly blow, but a 7 amp would do the job. But is there a certain percentage above the measured current that should be used in calculating fuse size.

3 amp slow-blow (as Bob says).
I use those in all of my games for the A/C line fuse, regardless. It is a little conservative, but safe. Guys with more electrical knowledge than myself may use formulas for the other applications you are talking about, but I would use the 3 amp slow-blows for your games.
