Picked up a Galaxian, Ghosts n Goblins, and a Vs. Gumshoe today. Pretty stoked, probably the most amazing deal I've ever snagged thus far.(spent less than 75 dollars total) I will try to get some pics soon..

How nice is the Galaxian?

Its in alot better shape than I thought originally, the side art is a little rough, has lots of kids names carved into it, the whole cab needs a good scrub, these games had been sitting in a pod container for three years, the marquee was cracked, and it was auctioned as "non working with no switch or power cord". The switch was up on the top like they usually are on midway cabs, and after drilling the lock out of the back, I found the power cord perfectly intact coiled up inside. Although, I did find quite the rats nest inside of the cab, it appears some sort of rodent decided to chew through a good portion of the service manual and schematics in order to make a nice cozy nest. I was very happy to find NO mice though. Luckily for me, he didnt touch any of the wiring, it all seems to be intact. I fired it up, and although it is working, Im getting a bunch of garbage on the screen. The board looks a bit rough with some rust on the pins, Im hoping I can clean and re-seat them, and resurrect the board, Im sure someone else has had this problem, (any info would be greatly appreciated!). So all in all, the cabs in decent shape, prolly needs new side art, I need to sand down and repaint the CP and the coin door, and the bezel has a few scratches as well. I have to say its def the best 37.50 I've ever spent!!!

A Gumshoe, nice.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about it, unfortunately, this cab is in really ROUGH shape. Its missing the back door, the bottom left half of the base needs re-secured, the game just kind of tilts to the left, the glass bezel is gone, and the cpo is pretty rough. But, I bought it unseen for a dollar! I was also told there was no gun, but after digging around in the back of the inside, I found an old black gun in pieces. I didnt see the optic plastic in there, but Im hoping it is somewhere in the bottom, if not, I was gonna maybe raid an old nes light gun for parts. This cab will be quite the project when I get to it. It looks to have had blue paint under the current paint, DK maybe? Havent fired this one up yet as it is pretty dis-assembled in the inside. The board looks to be in good shape though, thinking about popping it in my playchoice to see if it boots up...

Also, maybe someone can help me here, but I cant find any record of ghosts n goblins in the database....does that mean my machine doesnt exist?!? Haha, its the larger taito version, if that helps....

Sweet. Nice score! :)

Ghosts 'n Goblins is insanely hard though. Anyone beat it without having to use a million credits? :)

The last guy is hard but I used to be able to play from start up to the last guy on 1 life.

here is the entry in the archives. Apparently when they updated the archives someone messed up the name as it comes up under "ghosts"

Wow, I would love to see that in person. I hope someone brings it to CAX and you can show me how it's done Dan. ;)

Maybe I'll bring mine. I'll probably need a little practice though. Haven't played the game since I pulled it out for the party at my place last year.

Sounds good. I guess I haven't played the game enough to know how to stay alive. The controls are a bit awkward because when you jump, you don't have any control once he's in the air so you have to time everything just right. Plus, only being able to shoot left and right is awkward, but that's the fun of the game...the challenge. :)

I see on your site that you have one as well. I'd honestly never heard of this game till I ran across it. Information for this game seems to be very hard to come by. What kind of bezel does this game need? (my cab is missing the bezel.) Is it the tinted glass? Do you use the joystick, or is it mainly a shooter?
