As you can see it barely fit in the car. Driving was very uncomfortable.... Anyway, I just got this working Super Cobra for $100. Some burn-in the monitor and some of the bezel paint is starting to flake. What do I do to preserve the bezel? Some kind of clear coating? Also there is a sound issue. A hum comes out of the speakers in attract mode. The only thing I don't really like about this game is the hideous pink marquee. That Stern logo is very 1980's and cooler than I thought it was going to be.

I am thinking of putting a 60-1 in it. I would just need a konami to jamma adapter like from jammaboards.com? http://tinyurl.com/lf4una Or is there something better? The copyright on the attract mode says Stern. Is that still going to work? I posted a pic of the insides below. This is my first arcade game since selling my Tron about 7 years ago so any suggestions or tips are welcome!

I love Super Cobra. I found mine curb side, in the garbage. The guy had a sign on it that said it needed a 1500 dollar part to work. I got mine going for about 40 bucks. I lucked out I guess. LOL. Yours looks to be in pretty nice shape. Mine had the upper corner crushed in.
Anyways, you can use something called "triple thick" on the bezel. I think Krylon makes it. Don't even try to clean the silk screen side , if it happens to be pealing bad. Just tape off the non-silk screen part off the bezel, and spray a bunch of coats on starting with a light coat. This stuff, preserves the silk screen pretty well. I've always had good luck with it. You can later polish the tape line and make it more transitional if you want to.

if you use a connector and don't change the wiring or the cabinet I think it would be a sweet 60 in 1.
that is a sweet cab though and I would hate to see it completely jamma-tized.

If you 60-1 and want to sell that board set I bet XXI21 would be interested in it.

A little off topic here, apologies... some SCRAMBLES have em (konami) and some don't (stern) Not sure on super cobra. we talked about this... rememberrrrr?:p It's a processor box or somethin

Slow fuel? They are the same pcb can't you just swap the roms?

Thanks for all the replies. I learn so much on these forums! I got it from the guy in San Luis Obispo. I missed out on the Ms. Pac-man he had for $100.

How much more is the board set worth if it has the black box?

I want to get a switchable joystick to get 4 or 8 positions for different games. Is there a particular switching joystick that you would recommend?

These are in the for sale section right now:

Or you could go with the Mag Stick plus that's mentioned in the thread, they are switchable simply by pulling the stick up and twisting. Very nice sticks.
