My favorite thing about my garagcade is watching the neighbors and their kids play the games while I am acting like an old school operater.
My second favorite thing is fixing the games when they break.
My least favorite thing is watching my wife bitch about losing garage space and money to the games. (I watch; I don't listen).
My favorite thing specifically in my garagcade are my two playchoice's and my Nintendo Super system (and collecting all the things for them).

What are you favorite things about your arcade? Specifically or not...

I also really enjoy watching everyone else have fun playing the games when I host a party.

I also like to add new additions to my arcade that relate directly to the theme....

Without a doubt, the coolest thing about have a lot of nice games is to see the look on the faces of people who are visiting for the first time. It's so much to take in, and they are often just dumbfounded. But, i have actually seen the opposite effect as well. Not too long ago, we had someone from California visit who was expecting for me to have some old consoles (like an Atari 2600 and a Colecovision, i suppose). She totally didn't get the point about having the dedicated cabinets for machines. She wanted to know why i didn't have an emphasis on collecting "smaller", more compact gaming devices. Why have all these big cabinets when you can play all of he games in a small controller?

I also enjoy the reaction I get from new guests and the UPS/ FedEx delivery people, they can't believe what they see when they arrive at my garage arcade, right now I'm enjoying my new 80inch pull down screen and new projector that I just installed in the gameroom I been playing all my old school 80s I love my MTV videos while I play my games with family and friends! What I hate the most is when I host a party and one of my games decide to act up and stop working!

My friend said the same thing when I was passing by his place on the way back from picking up a game and told him I had a 6-foot tall arcade cabinet in the back of a pickup truck outside. He said, "you know they have these things called Xboxes now and they are only this big" while holding his hands a foot apart.

I love the "vibe" in mine. ;)

Blacklight carpet, blacklights, LED rope lighting, cool games, mirrors on all walls, gumball machine... It just rocks. It's a very happy place to be.

is when I tell people that I have an actual 21 machine arcade. Oh and my Jap Egret 29 and my twin Korean Crowns.

And to add... and this may be for everybody. Is knowing that once you've completed a restore, you have one more machine lined up after it and the adventure begins again.

While my "arcade" is not very big at the moment there are two thing I enjoy at this point,

#1. Knowing that at any point in the day I can pull up a stool and get some gaming on.

#2. When something needs to be done, doing the dishes, cooking, running to the store etc. I can challenge my wife to a best 2 out of 3 challenge. Thus, preventing me from having to do something. (Sometimes, I let her win so that she still occasionally accepts challenges).
