I spent the last four months on the east coast for work. Before I flew out I offerend to help guys in Virginia and North Carolina do any repair work they might need. I met many collectors and worked on many machines, including 5 pins and 13 vids. In addition I met over 25 collectors from North Carolina, Virginia, the DC Metro area, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. I visited six commercial arcades (only two really worth revisiting, Crabtowne and Flipper McCoy's) and 12 personal arcades (all worth revisiting).

Of course, the most important thing is I acquired three machines of my own; Clowns, Die Hard Arcade (I'll convert it to something), and the closest thing that I have (had) to a grail - Head On.

The Clowns and Die Hard will be shipped home soon but the Head On had to be left behind for now...

It was nice to catch up with you in person, Oryk. The next time you're back we can get you a more extended tour if you wish.

I am picking up my monitor chassis this weekend from NeoTopher while I'm down there for a cycling race, thanks a whole bunch for your repair skills and time! It was nice seeing you again it's too bad I was on the opposite side of the state for most of your visit. I hope to visit Flipper McCoys while I'm in the area too. Is Jillian's in Norfolk still around and open?

A more extended tour of Maryland?

To be honest I enjoy working on machines more than playing them (with very few exceptions like Star Trek SOS or certain pins, Space Invaders comes to mind). Crabtowne was cool and so was _sentient_'s place but I really prefer to find a quiet corner to do repairs and socialize or play games only occasionally. Maybe we can plan out a weekend that I can spend doing repairs in Maryland at a few different guys' places. That would be much closer to my idea of an ideal visit.

Yes, Jillians is still open, but many of the machines were not working when I was last there. The two bars in that mall have lost their liquor license and that has killed the whole area. But, last time I passed through the mall in Greenbriar they had an area blocked off for renovation and it is apparently slated to be a Jillian's so maybe they are planning to move there. Hopefully they are operational the next time I am in town because that mall is right across the street from my hotel and I have a few cards with cash still on them.

About the monitor, I did deliver the chassis to Chris's place but somehow I dropped the extension cord in the parking lot of the hotel. Someone found it and returned it to the hotel so I have it but I need your address so I can send it to you.

You let me know next time you are in town.....You can relax in the Realm and fix anything you want ;)

It was great meeting you also! You are the first KLOVer I have had the oppurtunity to meet (I guess DK81 will be #2). Thanks for all the help you gave me while in town and hopefully next time you are here I'll be in my new house with a better gameroom layout.

That Clowns you picked up is really a nice cab and a fun game. The cab artwork alone made me want one -- shame the wife doesn't like clowns.

Hey Oz! Nice hearing from you again!! Long time no hear!

Glad too hear your back in Washington! You going to be around for awhile? Whats the plans?

Anything thing new other then the machines on there way?

Hey Oryk, I am glad you came by for a visit. It was a pleasure showing off my collection. I just wish the place wasn't such a mess. Maybe next time I'll have everything working and moved around so their more playable. I have made a little progress, got the MACH 3 up and running as well as my GORF and I started cleaning out the garage and dusted off one of my Star Treks and played a few games. So next time your in town drop by. That goes for any KLOVer, just give me a little more time to regroup. :)

That sounds good to me but I doubt I will be back on the east coast until 2011.

Yeah, I love the Clowns machine but it may be a little too addicting. I'd love to add it to the game room but I may leave it in the garage just so I get other things accomplished. This is the only machine I have picked up and actually lost an entire day while playing it...

Well, I should be in state for the rest of the calendar year. My plans include going to Dave's for the repair parties for the upcoming Pin and Vid show as well as repairing a pin down in Tacoma and some repairs for a guy that lives near me while he is in Afghanistan. Hopefully I can have most of his gameroom up and running before he gets back.

Outside the world of classic aracde machines I still have the baby at home, my wife is still unemployed (though she is finally actively looking for a job after I threatened to take a second one), and I may be filing a police report this afternoon, I think I spotted a video susrveilance camera in a green belt behind my back yard aimed at my backyard, or possibly house, this morning. I am going to check it out after I get home today.

That sounds good. I'd love to try out the Mach 3 and I can spend quite a bit of time playing any of the Star Treks...

Uh... why would that be there? Or am I on a need to know basis?

(currently after reading this, not sure if you mean it's from gov't or just a peeping tom)

I am assuming a peeping tom, I would hope the government I work for is more professional. I noticed an odd looking birdhouse yesterday and this morning, as I was leaving for work, I noticed it has a blinking green LED. Government cameras don't have lights that could give them away...

I'll inspect it this afternoon. It could be something else entirely and I am just being paranoid, but I also noticed that my dogs have been digging and scratching the fence in that general area recently as well, so something has them worked up.

If it is a camera it is more likely aimed at my teenage daughter's room.

If it is aimed at my room... well, I feel proud because I am strolling around there naked more often than my wife.

O.k. thats too much informtion we really did'nt need too know this :O)

maybe ask your wife if she know's anything about it? maybe the people are just keeping an eye on your place while you where out of state?

Should be easy to figure out the camera situation. It has to be getting power from somewhere.
