I started this project on Saturday, when i cut out the cabinet, and here's where i am Tuesday night. It will be PC based, running Daphne, and as many laser games as i can load on it using one joystick and two buttons. I'll update this every day i make progress..

I started a similar project and ran into major snags when it came time for some of the more obscure parts like Marquee bracket rails and such.. I"m still looking for those damn things.. had a couple sales that fell through and I ended up with nothing.. Anyone have any?

i have a borrowed set of marquee rails, i am having a friend make me a set, let me see if i can hook you up dave!

Interesting..

So that one sheet is just a jig, for placement of blocking, etc..? I hadn't thought of that.

I plan on building a 'new' BZ mini cabinet, except that I'll reuse the front panel.

I'm thinking that with the chipping and roughness of the original 3/4" particle board sides, I'll want to make a perfect template to flush trim the new sides to. I was thinking of making a sample/template piece with 1/2" MDF. Do all the straight cuts on the tablesaw, then the curves from the original cabinet, careful not to get the imperfections. Sound like a good idea?

I would like to see pics of the whole process. Nothing wrong with mixing woodworking into this hobby!

Looks good so far DP :D...

Others have asked about them as well so if your friend has the time he should probably make a few extra sets :).

Repro marquee brackets in this old thread, I think he only needed 10 pairs to get them going.

DPtwiz - that is incredible work!

Nice!

Will Daphne run the display board?

If you look closely at this pic, I would say yes. It looks like it is a custom scoreboard made by Spaeth specifically for Daphne. Actually, with the two connectors, maybe it works for both Daphne and a drop in replacement for an original. Nice!
