Since my school years in which I played at the arcades that no longer exist today I've been dreaming of having my own arcade cabinet at home.
So far, I've been playing my Double Dragon & Shinobi PCB with my HAS Supergun which is an excellent supergun but I was still missing the real thing. Started using it with a Framemeister, but didn't liked the LCD screen and acquired a 25" Sanyo CRT TV wich looked way better.
Finally, a month or so ago I found a local ad in FB of a guy that do CNC cuts, contacted him and the project started! Used the CAD Drawing from the Classic Arcade Cabinet page Double Dragon Plans
I choose 3/4 melamine particle board for the side front and back panels and 3/4 plywood for the cabinet base, control panel and top. Particle board is not as strong as plywood but easier to clean specially when my kids are around but just to make sure the cabinet holds strong I'll be using 1 in x 1 in wood dowel that I got from the local Home Depot for the cabinet blocking.
Since melamine not friendly with paint I went to a local Sherwin Williams store and got primer and satin black paint that so far is holding very good
