Not really an arcade post but my 24 year old daughter is having a party. It is an '80s movie night party where everybody needs to bring a movie from the (yep, you guessed it) the 80's. Everybody will then vote on the ones to watch. top 3 get watched. People will be dressing the part, too! Since arcades where very popular back in the 80's I know a lot of people on here are from that great era. My idea to her was SPACE BALLS. One of the greatest of all time! She also mentioned the Freddy Krugar (Nightmare on Elm Street) and of course, Jason (Friday the 13th) movies as well. What was your favorite back in the 80's?

I'm not sure which genre you're looking for but these are some of my faves...

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Time Bandits
The Lost Boys
Tron
To Live and Die in L.A.
The Highlander
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Here goes my list:

Better off Dead
Spaceballs
Monty Python (Holy Grail is my personal favorite, but others are good too. Including Live at the Hollywood Bowl, And Now for Something Completely Different)
Young Frankenstein
Big Trouble in Little China
Johnny Dangerously (Classic!)
Willow
Fletch
Fletch Lives
16 Candles
Pretty in Pink
Can't Buy Me Love (If she likes McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy, she will like this show)
Goonies
Gremlins
Karate Kid
Ghostbusters
Some Kind of Wonderful
Lost Boys (I still love the soundtrack for this movie...best soundtrack ever IMHO)
Time Bandits
Tron (my kids loved this one!)
Strange Brew (this hoser forgot that one...thanks descrenti for reminding me)

I have been researching out what 80's shows to show my kids...can you tell?
