Ok so i took apart one of my Daytona 2 cabs from garage to my man cave. It was really a pain to get it there, well i finally got to fit in & hooked it up. Now when i plugged it to the socket some sparks came from the wall socket & my whole room power turned off. Now my Daytona wont power on. So is it FUBAR? What do you think cause this?

Ok so everytime i plug the arcade to any socket, the room shuts down or the wall socket stops working. What do you guys think is the cause of this? Please help.

Some screw loose in the cab short out on the power supply when you moved it?

Power cord wire get pulled out a little?

something pretty big to kill the breaker, direct short in the power
That might be a saving grace, and did no damage to the game

What did you take apart to move the game?

Will it blow the breaker when the games power switch is in the off position as well?

If it was the top marque assembly, it is possible that when you placed it back on the wires got pinched and are shorting to the metal marque housing.

EDIT: If it were the marque shorting, it should have blown the main fuse. Check the power cord for a short with your meter with the game switch in the off position. Those games are heavy and if the cord got caught at some point it could have pinched it.

Thanks everyone for your reply, my Daytona 2 is now powering up. After quadruple checking i notice that one of the cables was plugged into a wrong cable from the coin mech.

But now there is a new problem. When it powers up the monitor screen at the bottom of both sides \ / both corners have like a rainbowish color. It kinda looks like when there is a magnet on a tv. This did not have a problem before i bought it. Is there a way to fix this or do i need a new monitor?

Thanks again for all your help, this place is awesome & loaded with great info!

sounds like your monitor needs a good Degaussing, look for a switch on the pincushin
( the thing were you adjust the size and vert and such)

I have no idea what Degaussing meant until i looked it up. I was freaking out a bit, i thought might have to get near the monitor... I was like never mind, i'll just play with the funky sides as its quite playable. Anyway i was adjusting the volume inside the coin door & there i saw switch Degauss, i pushed it & all sudden my screen started showing funky colors & poof its working perfect now! My Daytona is now Rolling Start perfect! Thanks

One last thing, like i said im a noob to all this, so i was trying to insert quarters & even chuckee cheese tokens haha & it just wont drop to the coin slot. I did some research & it looks like i have no coin mech haha...The fool who sold it to me must have removed all the coin mechs. So now i need coin mechs but wasn't sure what i need to buy? Will those coin mechs from Lizard Lick work?

Happ Suzo-Happ Metal $.25 USA Coin Mech
Imonex V9 Series Coin Mech

Is there a cheaper route? I dont mind used, would be cool to use quarters & chuckee cheese tokens if its possible.

a user was selling coin mechs. look in the For Sale section. they generally come up all the time.

otherwise, there's a service credit button inside there, or you can flip the wire actuators on the coin switches yourself. sometimes they come with plastic guards to cover the coin switches, that's a couple tiny bolts that you can take off and voila, access to coin switch.
