My dad stopped by a place where he used to know a guy who worked on arcade machines in the early 90's. When he got there the guy no longer was around but the owner had about 15-20 games he said in the back he was going to take to the dump, my dad doesnt know anything about games at all, he said he seen some cabs with sega on them and some driver games and a motorcycle games and some bare cabs, he said on a couple had monitors but he said almost all of them had marquees and control panels. The owner said he could have them all, so do you think he should grab them all, I am having my mom call when he gets there Saturday and name all the cabs and take pics while he loads them up for me. They are outside and been outside for about a week but it just had a hard rain the other day but the next day was warm and sun was out so they should be ok i guess. If anything my dad said he will get all of them and i could just get all the good parts off and he would burn the cabs for me. BTW my dad lives in alabama and i live iowa, so it will be a awhile until i see in person everything but pics should help me determine what im dealing with. My dad will be storing them under his shed, in like a overhang type area that usually stays dry in the heaviest rain. In about 4 weeks i might be around so hopefully its some good stuff. Ill update this when Saturday comes around

That's awesome. Free stuff is always great. You could at least get the cabs and if they are damaged beyond reasonable repair you could part them.

Saving them from the dump is the best thing you can do. You'll get plenty of people posting "if you run accross this part let me know" and I'd be one of them... I'll wait for a list though.

Looks like its not as good as I thought, my dad went to pick the cabs up today, he said he got to look at them good and most of the cabs were bingo games, he did get 3 cabs, ones a sit down cop game he said(apb maybe), another cab says sega on the marquee and i dont know what the other is, im not complaining because free is free, he said they look pretty gutted but still have some parts on them i could probably use, my mom is taking some pictures and sending to me later today

Just got the pics, it was just a bunch of junk. If I would have known it was as junky as this stuff I would have told my dad to just leave it. Its neo geo hyper 64 racing which has the seat and plastic dash parts but no steering wheel and no pcb or monitor parts. The second one is a code 1 dispatch, no pcb , has a monitot but no chassis, looks like control panel has some good parts and good coin door, the third is a alien storm, nothing good on it but a marquee. Like i said, the other games he said were just poker machines

Aw, HELL NO!

Wait a minute, it looks like THAT outside in Iowa right now?! Screw you guys. In Minnesota there's multi-foot snowdrifts still chilling on every street corner and it's 3°, up considerably from the -20° it was yesterday.

The Alien Storm cab might be usable for something, but it looks like you would have probably made out better taking the poker/bingos. At least they might have had monitors. But free is free, still a score.

hahaha i wish, my dad lives in alabama

He got this from a operator he said inside the building is filled with nice looking older games but said the guy didnt act like he wanted to sell any.

Alien Storm looks almost like a converted Centipede cab. I would pay shipping costs for the marquee, if you're interested. It would look nice next to my Shinobi marquee.

I was gonna use it for decor, im stripping what parts i can off the games and burning the rest, it will be awhile until i visit my dad though. Its not a centipede as this machine looks to have 3 latches for the control panel and centipede only has two and this cab has three coin slots and centipede only has 2

The Alien Storm looks to be a Dynamo cab. It would make a decent MAME or JAMMA cab. If you don't want it, put it on Craigslist. Somebody would come and grab it.

A+++ for your dad going through all this effort to pick these up for you. Even if some of it was Junk as you say.

Moving cabs suck if you are in the hobby, and they suck even more if you aren't.

So give you dad a Hickory Farms basket or Steak or something for helping you out!!!
