I got this Sega Afterburner in a lot of games, and it was "mostly dead, which means partially alive" (who can name the movie?). I fixed a bunch of hack wires, and game was up. It is in a Mach 3 cabinet, which i guess was a popular cabinet for the Choplifter conversion, which I dont think ever had its own cabinet. I stripped the cabinet, then bondoed, sanded, and finally painted it a dark blue. I installed red t molding, new locks, all new lights, all new lighted buttons, side kick plates, wheels, and painted the front black, then dusted on metallic silver. I got a new control panel overlay off of Ebay, although I dont think its for Choplifter as advertised, but it looks great. Anybody know what game its from? I never could figure it out, but it matches great. I also got custom made Apache helicopter decals for the sides, in silver, because Choplifter just had generic Sega sideart.

Here are the somewhat before pics

Game is also now for sale by the way, if anybody interested. 400 Thanks

You cant tell by the pictures, but the front is really sparkely, if thats a word. I do laquer black, then spray metallic from about 4 feet away, for just a slight dusting of metallic, looks great in person, pics suck!!!

Art Question

Where did the art around the monitor come from? Where the choppers on the outside painted or stick art? I may try to do similar to what you did, but with mine. :)

OMG what a turd that conversion is. (Street Fighter) The movie quote was from Princess Bride by the way.(first post) I thought that was one of the better choplifters I have seen.
