I was recently was asked for collection pics. One of these days, I'll pull the games out and take detailed cab pix, but for now here they are, jam packed in the garage. I have 3 candy cabs and 28 dedicated classics for a total of 31. The 4 in my sig are undergoing restoration and not pictured. My games are a mixture of fully restored games, nice originals and HUO. I'm close to the end as far as buying goes, but would like to add a nice mad planets to round things out. If my wife and I buy a house with a 3 car garage, there are a few other titles I'd consider adding. Other than the Fonz, I don't have anything I consider to be particularly rare, just games I like. In the interest of space, I've avoided buying joystick games that I can play on the candy cabs, as they are my workhorses. The exceptions to my rule are Berzerk, Burgertime and Wizard of Wor. I've got over 100 jamma and classic pcbs w/jamma adapters.

I haven't posted pics previously, because my games in a crappy garage and not a nice finished gameroom with artwork, carpet and blacklights like they deserve to be housed in. :( We've been lifelong renters but plan on buying a house within the next couple years. When that happens, I will go all out and convert to a full fledged gameroom.

I'm in awe of the restoration skill and technical knowledge many of you guys have. Its been a heck of a ride, my favorite hobby by far. After pretty much 5 or 6 years of just collecting, stockpiling parts, storing games with issues and not playing and enjoying my games due to a myriad of things to fix... at the urging of my friend Francis, I made a resolution of getting all my games to a point where I'm happy with them, cosmetically and functionally before my son's 7th birthday in July. To accomplish this, I've been going all out since the beginning of the year and within the last month or so, I've reached my goal of being able to just my games on, play and enjoy. Everything is pretty much fixed now. My games are on casters, are keyed alike, have all the available hss kit upgrades and have burn free monitors.

I'd like to thank everyone here for helping me out as well as special thanks to my good friend Francis for sharing invaluable information and being a big influence, Xray2 and Stuffmonger for helping me with various projects, Rich at thisoldgame, Darren at Phoenixarcade, Anthony at Quarterarcade, Stephen at videogameparts.com, Gene at vintagearcadesuperstore, Steven at Arcadeshop, the real Bob Roberts and MikesArcade for parts and artwork, Matt Osborn, Souzilla, Braze and all the HSSkit modders, all the Klov'ers that have sold me parts and games over the years and of course Mclemore for having this cool site.

Anyways, here are some quick pix of my current set up. Thanks for looking :)

the workhorses of my collection...Sega Astro2 and (2) Egret2's. I can play all things Jamma as well as classics like Donkey Kong, Moon Patrol, Joust, etc via Jamma adapters. I only play the original pcbs and have a collection of over 100. These are designed to have the player sit down at them on special japanese stools, of which I have around 12. Of all my games, these would be the last to ever go due to their versatility.

My power row. I never get past without playing something :)

Berzerk is one of my all time favorites. I got lucky when my friend Vectorinvader hooked me up with this recently to help fund his new Tron pin. I've since installed Mark Spaeth's Frenzy zpu, cnlmoore's Berzerk repro panel, Happs perfect 360 joy and a burn free monitor. My high score on Berzerk is 11,600.

Sinistar is HUO and perfect.

Asteroids Deluxe was obtained recently from the Ataricade and is nearly flawless. Another favorite. My high score is 69k.

Millipede is HUO and was won in a contest bitd by Ben Gold and was in the movie chasing ghosts. Was not working when received. Francis restored the the marquee and cpo and brought the game back to life. Remainder of the art was perfect. New monitor installed. Tracball rebuilt using ultra high precision bearings and translucent lit tracball. Has the multipede hs kit. I love this game as well. my high score is 175k

Zeke's peak. Nice condition. Since I received it, I've waxed the playfield, installed new arm bands, motors, ball and solenoid. Also replaced the entire balance arm assembly and rear molded plastic. It plays terrific now. Funny thing is, I don't play it. Only my guests do ;)

AfterBurner Deluxe: when I die, I'd like to be buried in this damn thing. Its been a money pit and time killer to restore. The motors have been serviced by electricians at my work and the brushes cleaned up by our machinists. Cosmetically, it was semi crappy when I first got it. But now nearly everything has been replaced with NOS parts and its awesome. Monitor recapped. Entire cab thoroughly cleaned. All cab body rollers replaced. I also installed heavy duty casters to replace the crappy undersized original sega ones that are all crushed. It rolls so easy and smooth now. If I ever sold this, I'd never recoup the time and money I have into it.

Burgertime: HUO from the drewster w/hi score save kit from Matt Osborne. The CPO is original and has some cracking at the bend. I have a repro CPO to replace it in the future if it gets worse, but its still too nice to mess with. The sideart is almost perfect save for some very faint scratches on one side.

Battlezone: Perfect condition w/hi score save kit

Punchout: restored. Some burn on the monitors. Repro plexi. I have an original SPO joystick and SPO pcb that will be eventually be installed, to allow switching between both games, by VintageArcadeSuperstore.

QBert: I think it was used on a tv show or something. It originally had a prop tag, but was removed when it underwent restoration by vintagearcadesuperstore. Has repro cpo, underlay, swearing marquee and new monitor. Have a multiQbert kit but haven't installed it. I've gone back to the original ps. The sideart has been redone on one of the side not pictured but they were unable to match the color exactly. Ah well :(

SmashTV: Its a multigame of sorts. I had no luck with Clay's multi kit, so am running Mike's 2in1. In addition to SmashTV, it also plays Robotron and Total Carnage. It will also play Timber, once I can convince Stuffmonger to make me a Timber --> Smashtv adapter. I recently replaced the joysticks with Wolfeels repro 4" sticks and they are terrific. The cab has some ugly lockbar holes in the front that will get fixed up in the future.

Tempest: I pretty much suck at this game. I've seen good players play and would like to get to that skill level someday. Has tempest tubes installed. I recently replaced the cpo with a repro, but the graphics lifted so will need to redo :( Its not that noticeable so I'll let it slide for now. The Marquee is cracked so needs to be replaced at some point as well.

T2: VintageArcadeSuperstore saved my bacon and repaired this. I somehow blew the game out, changing light bulbs for the damage effect and it had died on me. The guns work great. Have some NOS backups I may swap in at some point.

Pole Position: An unexpected favorite. At a friend's urging, I bought this from BrentRadio and its a gorgeous machine. Brent said he installed over 50 NOS parts including a NOS cpo. No cig burns on the plastics. It has a footbrake installed and has both PP and PP2 boardsets installed switchable by swapping the harness thru the coin door. It had a fuse blowing issue when I got it but VintageArcadeSuperstore ironed it out and redid the sides with sideart from TOG.

Crystal Castles: new repro cpo and monitor installed. Some spider veins in the Marquee and some cracking of the speaker grill. Sideart is perfect. Almost decided to sell this, but it has a certain charm about it that makes it hard to let go of...Then again I'm a hoarder of sorts, heh. Ultra high precision bearings installed.

Marble Madness: Obtained from the Ataricade. new monitor, translucent tracballs, Ultra high precision bearings installed.

Wizard of Wor: Picked up recently, following M1A's glowing recommendation of the game. Wasn't very impressed with the gameplay...but I finally got a chance to play 2P with my 6 year old and it was a blast. The game gets pretty intense! 1 of the double leaf switches needs to be replaced.

Assault: Underrated Namco classic with unique gameplay. NOS sticks, new monitor and Matt Osborne's Awesome Assault/+ HSS kit installed. Have Takeman's repro CP.. awaiting new repro CPO from Quarterarcade.

Rampart3P: HUO from atariHQ. Early revision pink marquee. Swapped in a burn free monitor from my previous Rampart. Translucent lit tracballs with ultra high precision bearings. Super fun game that not many people really know about. gameplay is best described as a combination of both missile command and tetris elements.

Missile Command: fully restored by nash with new sideart (Phoenix?), new repro glass (ToG), new tracball and monitor. CP touched up nicely. Have one of Takeman's silkscreened repro panels on order, just in case. SuperMissile attack HS multi installed.

The Fonz: Awesome condition. Works 100% but needs to be recapped. XRay2 is in process of modding a score extend and possibly other goodies. Would like to take this to CAX in the future.

Frontline: Recently got this in. Installed a NOS joystick and NOS Spinner. Will also install a NOS monitor glass when I get around to replacing the monitor which has heavy Qix burn, if I can find another. They are getting harder and harder to find :( Hoping there will be a Frontline HSS kit produced in the future :)

Crazy Climber Cocktail: I love this game for some strange reason. I thought I could save space with a Taito UR but found I preferred playing the cocktail version so it stayed. It was legless when I picked this up, but found some original legs for it this year.

Warlords Cocktail: nash restored this puppy for me. It gets lots of play at parties. Have one of PhoenixArcade's amazing repro topglasses but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

Thanks for getting these posted Tom - super great stuff you have there.

Don't worry about that Afterburner deluxe selling - you decide to some day, let me know. ;)

Awesome diversity of games you have - shooters, drivers, trackball games, you've got a great selection, and not all of the usual ones that everyone seems to have.

Best part is the condition - some HUO (WOW), the historical Ben Gold Millipede cab (still couldn't believe it when you told me you were getting this), minty stuff from Francis. Just WOW.

Where's the Warlords cocktail??

Again, thanks for posting - 'crappy garage' or no, I'd be super proud to own 1/4 of those machines, not to mention the super versitile Egret II.

Great stuff buddy!

whelp that's my collection...For some reason it doesn't seem like alot to me, when I think of the heavy hitters with collections in the 50+ to 200+ range. I'm a small fry ;) I'm still waiting for Black Widow, Star Wars, Spyhunter sitdown and a Zookeeper that are all being restored. I'll post pics when they arrive as well as better pics of the games next time I move the games around.

Thanks for looking :)

Thanks gozer. I probably oughta break up the group and spread them around abit...Some clusters of games don't get as much attention as these do. Poor Wizard of Wor sits unplayed in the far corner as we usually don't make it past these juggernauts

Tom

Power Row. I like it.

Paper Boy needed some additional restoration work done and I had to pick my battles. So I let it go. In hindsight I probably should have stuck with it and just had everything redone. I've got all the repro art and vinyl + a new med rez monitor. That's a game I may add in the future if we get a house with a bigger Garage.

Dragon's Lair sold earlier this year for something like $1400. I offered it here on klov first and received little interest, so I tried to time it on Ebay at tax time and it went splat. I took a pretty sizeable hit on the deal, probably losing $600 on it. I was in desperate need of the space... but was really torn doing so. I miss the game now and of course, my sons now say they liked the game after its gone, heh :(

Tom

Hey Tom,
What happened to your Dragon's Lair and Paper Boy?
