OK, I know it's a little late for this now but I'll add my CAX experience.
Overall, awesome! I met a lotta cool KLOV dudes and 1 cool KLOV "chick" at CAX.
First off I want to apologize to anyone I didn't introduce myself to.
I tend to not speak until spoken to at times. I suppose I'm a little reserved until someone
speaks to me first. (I don't really know why)
Anyway, With that outta the way I'll mention the guys I didn't get a chance to talk to.
Jow: I saw him when he was checking in the hotel and walked right by him. For some reason I thought I knew who you were but I wasn't 100%. I only saw you once after that at the group pic and that was it.
Phet and chris25810, Man, I crossed paths with these guys like 1000 times but never said hi (see above). Passed by them in the hotel (Floor #9), I practically sat right next to them at IHOP, Round Table pizza with a bunch of other KLOVers, the vector row, the bar area, etc, etc, Was gonna ask Phet about reskinning a Nintendo with the vinyl from This Old Game, but never did.(Rich told me you did a DK3 in red)
Mkeller: I talked to you but didn't formally introduce myself, I think you're the only guy who knew what 05/25/77 was. LOL (at least I think that was you, if not, well then I'm just retarded)
mrbill2084, I was looking forward to saying hi to him, but as far as I know, I never even saw him.
AceJedi: another guy I saw everywhere but the dude always looks busy so I never said hi.
ArcadeJunkie: How can a guy with eyes on the back of his head not be cool? :) I Didn't get a chance to say hi.
11strings: duuuuuuude that bass was sick! The Joust ostrich inlay was ridiculous, the neck on that bass was like 7" wide. I didn't get to see you play it, I had to run (beer run that is…)

Guys (and girls) I did talk to,
ThatGuy: Cool dude and fellow Star Wars nerd. It seems he was the mystery bidder on my Punch-out!! I won a long time ago… LOL
Eseyo1: Another Nintendo enthusiast and cool guy. I Didn't get a chance to talk to you more man, you disappeared after the group pic.
Gibbous: ElNuno and I enjoyed playing your Moon Patrol, I also have a pending transaction with you.
AvidGeek: The voice behind the Food Fight cab, LOL, Very cool dude, and I may be contacting you very soon for some of those parts we spoke about.
RikiTiki: His products are awesome, those D2K kits look SWEEEEET! Definitely an asset to the community!
Josie: What can I say? She's awesome, a very fun person indeed, I had a really good time talking to ya. Still bummed about those molasses cookies though.
JimKirk: cool guy, dude why aren't you in the pic? I coulda swore I talked to you right before it was taken…
ENDofLINE: We had a very brief conversation but a conversation none the less.
Parrothead: cool guy, thanks for all the organizing of the pic and vids you did, awesome job!

I had a great time playing a lot of games I hadn't played since I was a kid. I even got 4th place on Black widow… Pinballs are always awesome, some were crazy. That Williams one with all the tiny balls where you shoot the letters = Crazy, but hella fun!
I had an even better time meeting the people I had the opportunity to meet.
The time passed too quickly for me but there's always next year.
I hope I didn't forget anyone but I probably did. Sorry 'bout that.

Final thoughts:

I wanna trade all my games in for Atari color vectors… they are indeed bad ass!
I need another Pin. I love those things….
I now know I can fit four Sierra Nevada pale ales in my cargo pockets and drink them fast enough while playing games before they get warm. (putting them in individual plastic bags is the key)...........
Oh, and the winning raffle ticket was only 12 off from one of mine and I woulda picked the pin for sure!

Sorry Greg! Only had a couple of hours left to game. Just sort of got lost after the photo. It was a pleasure meeting you though. Thanks for the recap and pics.

Hi Greg or is it Tron.:)I think we talked after the picture was taken because everyone kinda went back to the games right after.
I never did hear about anything that was going on with KLOVER's.:(
You and Elnuno are cool guys and enjoyed meeting you.
I didn't realize at the time that you lived in Porterville,my uncle has lived there forever. Well, next year I will make sure I am in the loop.;)

wow, awesome pacmobile greg! love it dude. yes, it was nice briefly meeting you man. now that im looking at the klov picture wish i woulda' said "heh" to more klovers. seemed like everyone was in there own little groups (socalers, east coasters, northern ca).

this was my first CAX and damn i had great time! my family road tripped up with vectorinvaders family and had a awesome trip. i was very impressed with the arcade / pinball lineup. i think i spent the most time playing the vectors and pinballs. oh yeah... demon rules.

it was great seeing some familiar faces and meeting for the first time some other cool klover dudes. had some MCedeez with pacant, dinner time with xray2, gibbous, and vectorinvader, really nice meeting jeffc and talkin' tron, met jow and sam and the wiffee, meetin' rikkitiki, hangin with kalan precax, got to meet happyday (finally!), thanks to joe acejedi for all the great lasers (i suck at them but def fun to watch others play), thanks to parrothead for the klover nametags, thanks to brian for the "early" cax showing, also met 11strings and listened to him SLAPPIN' THE BASS (very talented dude), and talked to coolmoecraig and met his girlfriend.

some of my top games at the show were VARKON, INFERNO, WARRIOR, BLACK KNIGHT 2000, CIRCUS VOLTAIRE, BOP, BLACK HOLE.

i think my favorite quote of the night was "I WAS PLAYING ____ PINBALL AND THE GUY BEHIND ME SMELLED LIKE DRIED URINE" ugghhh, so gross. i think the worst ASSTASTIC smelling area of the show was over in the irbot/zookeeper corner.

i wanted to also give major PROPS to mrbill2084 for hooking me up with a tapper on short notice. thank you bill :) also a big THANK YOU to gibbous and xray2 for getting this game packed and shipped back to the OC. thanks guys! also, big thanks to avidgeek for offering his shipping services.

can't wait for next year's CAX..... going to def come prepared next year with my pickup truck :) chris

..... nice meeting jeffc and talkin' tron,....

Yea Chris, it was great meeting you guys too! I think it went something like this:

"Hey Jeff...I think that DoT has speech!"

I hate you... :p

And Greg - I actually saw you, recoginzed the name on the KLOV stickers and knew you from your posts. I meant to say "hi" but for whatever reason never did...kind of similar to what you're talking about. I really focused on playing as much of the games as I could, but wish I'd made even more intros....all the more reason to go next year.

And I think there's a huge number of us who are closet SW nerds, and knew exactly what your shirt was.

Jeff

Whoa! You actually drink that Clamato/Budweiser stuff!? :)

Looks like the perfect use for that worthless sink. That thing is the most idiotic design ever.

It's a hard call between the worthless sink that splashed water everywhere, the lack of a bathroom fan, or the funky sliding doors to a bathroom. Definitely the most unique hotel bathroom in a while.

"Hey Jeff...I think that DoT has speech!"

jeff.... "you will get your speech working... oh yes, you will :) " in my best obi-wan kenobi voice.

it was great talkin to you man.... wish i coulda' watched you SHRED IT UP on 720 but sadly it was broken all weekend :( chris

Thanks guys,
TechKev, yeah I got a lot of double takes, smiling kids and thumbs up drive bys on the highway, LOL

JimKirk, that's crazy man small world I guess, P-ville is a really small town and not one I'd recommend visiting :)

JeffC, there's always next year bro, Perhaps then they'll have a 720 and you can show me some of your skills.

Eseyo1, next year we'll hang out more, we'll talk DK or something.

ENDOFLINE, cool man that reminds me, VectorInvader should have also been on my to meet list.

Gibbous, This weekend for sure.

Avid, Thanks bro.

Koolmoecraig, LOL, I'm primarily a dark beer guy, but for some reason the Chiladas remind me of my teenage years :)
