OK, I know it's a little late for this now but I'll add my CAX experience.
Overall, awesome! I met a lotta cool KLOV dudes and 1 cool KLOV "chick" at CAX.
First off I want to apologize to anyone I didn't introduce myself to.
I tend to not speak until spoken to at times. I suppose I'm a little reserved until someone
speaks to me first. (I don't really know why)
Anyway, With that outta the way I'll mention the guys I didn't get a chance to talk to.
Jow: I saw him when he was checking in the hotel and walked right by him. For some reason I thought I knew who you were but I wasn't 100%. I only saw you once after that at the group pic and that was it.
Phet and chris25810, Man, I crossed paths with these guys like 1000 times but never said hi (see above). Passed by them in the hotel (Floor #9), I practically sat right next to them at IHOP, Round Table pizza with a bunch of other KLOVers, the vector row, the bar area, etc, etc, Was gonna ask Phet about reskinning a Nintendo with the vinyl from This Old Game, but never did.(Rich told me you did a DK3 in red)
Mkeller: I talked to you but didn't formally introduce myself, I think you're the only guy who knew what 05/25/77 was. LOL (at least I think that was you, if not, well then I'm just retarded)
mrbill2084, I was looking forward to saying hi to him, but as far as I know, I never even saw him.
AceJedi: another guy I saw everywhere but the dude always looks busy so I never said hi.
ArcadeJunkie: How can a guy with eyes on the back of his head not be cool?
I Didn't get a chance to say hi.
11strings: duuuuuuude that bass was sick! The Joust ostrich inlay was ridiculous, the neck on that bass was like 7" wide. I didn't get to see you play it, I had to run (beer run that is…)
Guys (and girls) I did talk to,
ThatGuy: Cool dude and fellow Star Wars nerd. It seems he was the mystery bidder on my Punch-out!! I won a long time ago… LOL
Eseyo1: Another Nintendo enthusiast and cool guy. I Didn't get a chance to talk to you more man, you disappeared after the group pic.
Gibbous: ElNuno and I enjoyed playing your Moon Patrol, I also have a pending transaction with you.
AvidGeek: The voice behind the Food Fight cab, LOL, Very cool dude, and I may be contacting you very soon for some of those parts we spoke about.
RikiTiki: His products are awesome, those D2K kits look SWEEEEET! Definitely an asset to the community!
Josie: What can I say? She's awesome, a very fun person indeed, I had a really good time talking to ya. Still bummed about those molasses cookies though.
JimKirk: cool guy, dude why aren't you in the pic? I coulda swore I talked to you right before it was taken…
ENDofLINE: We had a very brief conversation but a conversation none the less.
Parrothead: cool guy, thanks for all the organizing of the pic and vids you did, awesome job!
I had a great time playing a lot of games I hadn't played since I was a kid. I even got 4th place on Black widow… Pinballs are always awesome, some were crazy. That Williams one with all the tiny balls where you shoot the letters = Crazy, but hella fun!
I had an even better time meeting the people I had the opportunity to meet.
The time passed too quickly for me but there's always next year.
I hope I didn't forget anyone but I probably did. Sorry 'bout that.
Final thoughts:
I wanna trade all my games in for Atari color vectors… they are indeed bad ass!
I need another Pin. I love those things….
I now know I can fit four Sierra Nevada pale ales in my cargo pockets and drink them fast enough while playing games before they get warm. (putting them in individual plastic bags is the key)...........
Oh, and the winning raffle ticket was only 12 off from one of mine and I woulda picked the pin for sure!
My reserve/staging sink
Best game of CAX hands down. Best graphix and playability for sure!
Thats right... I'm the nerd who drove this thing all the way up from P-town. It's the CAX or bust wagon!
