So a year or two ago I picked up a Bally Sente Mini Golf off a friend for 100 bucks. Read up on it, found the swappable rom board thing kind of cool, got a few off Ebay, but never managed to acquire any other control panels. Found a game or two that would work with the Mini Golf control panel (Stocker), but it wasn't quite as good as having the proper panel.

SOoooo, nobody seems to want to give 100 bucks for a Mini Golf, hah. Aw well.

New question -- Can I make one of my game eprom boards into a Snacks 'n Jaxson with new burned eproms? Going by this page it seems I can -

http://www.arcadecollecting.com/snacks/snacks.html

but on another page someone said something about PAL issues preventing it from working.

Anyone up for burning me some EPROMS so I can give it a try?

And dang, is the game really that rare? Low production run of the kit or something?

I also picked one up cheap the other day. I remember it from many years ago and it was a lot of fun. Anyway, I got everything working except the cpu. Going to try to find someone who can put it back in working condition for me.

My understanding was always that the PAL chips were the big obstactle in reprogramming a ROM card to be a different game, as the PAL chips were never dumped for MAME and thus the code isn't available. BUT I know with the Atari system 1 some of the security chips are shared between a few different games, like some Road Blasters cards for example can be reprogrammed to be Marble Madness, but I don't know if this is the case with any of the Sente games.

If you get it to work let me know, I'd love to recreated a few of the rare games like Chicken Shift.

BTW, there are a few PAL dumping circuits people have put together, hopefully some of the code for these rare PALs will start turning up now.

It can be done... Richie Knucklez is the man to contact for the process of each game.

It's nice to see Sente get some more love to unerath a few more of their rarities! Like I said in the previous post, it sucks that the best games of their catalog, are also their rarest - i.e. Snacks n Jaxson.

As a collector of Sente stuff I can tell you that the carts or not usually the problem as far as acquiring goes ( well, not the rare ones). It's finding the panels in decent shape. As well as the marquees... talk about flimsy and brittle!

sente collection for ca extreme 2014

Hi all,
I posted in another thread about trying to get exhibit of sente games at the 2014 show. For those other sente collector's I encourage you to help out. Although I have several of the conversion kits, I'd just as soon focus on getting cabinets available for someone else's kits so we can get as large a collection as possible.
