Wow what a day, I really don't know where to begin. I bought my Berzerk in October and drove about five hours each way to get it. It was being sold as non working and the guy was asking $400. I asked for pics and told him that $400 was a little too much for a non working Berzerk because of all the problems that those games had. He emailed me back a month later saying he wanted to dump it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The game was completely dead and only had the three beeps (sometimes) at startup. I bought a coin box and coin door from Vectorman, and rebuilt the coin door with the combination of the one I bought and the one I had. Jpopson then completely rebuilt the monitor with the Bob Roberts super duper deluxe G07 rebuild kit. Seinologist fixed the boards, but I couldn't get a decent picture, so that's where I was this morning.

I woke up hungover off my ass this morning and drove to my bar (20 min). I loaded the game into my Blazer and drove back to Jpopson's place in Port Clinton (1hr 15min). Of course since I was completely hungover I forgot the keys so he had to drill my back lock, which is funny now, but not at the time. The monitor problem was due to a bad connection to the monitor. He rebuilt it and got it working for me. Then we loaded the game back up and I drove back to the bar and got there at about 4:30 PM. I played the game continuously until 10 PM. I haven't played a working Berzerk since the 80s in an arcade. What I love about it is like most other games back then it is simple to learn and difficult to master. My high score so far is 4360. Of course Lance left me with a goal of 9610. The game still has some issues, but it was great to play again. I still need to tweek the monitor a bit and the harness is total crap so I'm sure I'll be replacing most of the connectors. But for now it's great being a part of the Berzerk family and also it's rewarding to bring a game back from the dead. I just noticed today that the S/N is in the 4600 range so it's one of the earliest models that I have. I would like to give a shout out to Seinologist and Jpopson because without them this post never would have happened. I am so dead right now but it was so worth it. And now for the pics.
