My basement arcade isn't so miserable! [New Lighting]

So I moved the Propcycle to the other side of the basement away from all the other games and installed $3 Bell brand exterior floodlight fixture with 65 watt incadensent flood lightbulbs. I bought all the hardware store sold, I still need at least 2 more for over the Nintendo cabinets. The nice thing about using these lamps is that since the light is pointed at the wall behind the games you don't see the light reflected on the game screens!

Here is pretty much what I bought but with the square gang box cover instead of the round one.

Too bright IMO. Maybe it's just the pics, but I prefer a bit darker of an environment when I play games. You might want to consider colored flood lights, which gives a nice ambience as well as softer color.

Might take a little trial and error, but it looks like you found a solution that works for you. Kudos!

It is mostly the camera. If it weren't a basement I would lean towards a more dark environment, but it ends up like a scary cave when I have it like that. I can always turn the lights off.

Do I spy, with my little eye, a Vectrex? :D

...Oh yeah, the lighting. Lookin' good :)

you don't even know what i had to go through to get that for him.

Also I'll say it again, finish the walls and the floor before it's to late.

How could it be too late??? I already have everything. By your logic I would have had to finish the walls 4 years ago! Besides, with exception the Nintendo cabinets everything else in that basement is on casters.

lol your screwy, you got like 8 games this year alone. Hey man it's your basement

I was going to dispute the 8 games statement, but then I counted...

phew, i could only count 6 quick off the top of my head after i made that post.

btw this is coming from the guy that just put a wall up and repainted his entire basement (including dryloking any and all exposed brick walls (garage included)). (i just want you to feel the pain i felt)

Thankfully, with my poured walls I don't have moisture problems. Actually, I was thinking I might do the faux (or should I say phax) brick paneling that Phet did in his Gaygage.

If your ever need someone to live in your basement tighe, for any reason, just let me know. Nice DarkStalkers poster by the way.

No problem, as long as you promise to feed the spiders.

That isn't a Dark Stalkers poster, it is a Big Blue marquee that I got in a unused complete kit from a local operator. I made a foam-board triangle shaped box and threw in a LED color changing light inside. :D

I was actually thinking about naming my naming my basement arcade Cirith Ungol that is where http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Shelob%27s_lairShelob's Lair is. :D
