My basement arcade hits the local paper!

Great article man. Kudos to you. Way to give back to the hobby too by making your donation. It makes me motivaated to see that you are 30 and already have 14 games as I am 32 and working on my very first one.

Very cool! Nice to see gaming getting the respect form the media that it deserves.

It is pretty amazing how well those games hold up in terms of entertainment value. I just don't think the likes of Grand theft Auto IV, Gears of War, and other current gen games will ever hold up like these.

Does anyone have any other article links? I remember reading a few about Peter's Luna City arcade and others. Please post links here!

Wooooooooooo!!!! Go Joe!!! Congrats on the coverage. I want my gameroom in the paper too,lol How did they find out about you and what you were going to do anyways?? Good seeing you at Crabtowne last weekend.

Congrats, Joe! That is an awesome article. Very respectful of the hobby too.

So, you're donating your machine at Big Bang 2010? Maybe I'll see you there. I'll be doing a donation of my own (you'll have to find out what it is when or after it happens).

Oh, and someone was wondering links to people's arcade articles? Mine made Game Room of the Month in the March 2010 of GameRoom magazine. You can't view the article here, but you can see the table of contents there:

Of course, it's all changed around now and looks way different than the pictures in that issue, plus the addition of 3 more arcade games.

Nice work Joe. Just wait til the local cable company decides to shoot a commercial in your arcade. Then you'll know true celebrity status.

Hey thanks guys!

Walter Day is actually the one who contacted the Gazette. I've been in touch with him and Billy Mitchell about getting my machine shipped to Ottumwa. Hopefully its happening today...kinda stressful. We'll be flying into Iowa next Thurs. and hopefully I'll see a few of you at the event!

Where is that commercial anyway? I loved seeing your gameroom with all the games in it...
