I finnaly got my ALIENS project finished. First off id like to say that this TATIO (rock-ola cab i guess? ) is the easiest cab i ever had to work/restore with.. Everything comes apart so easily and access to everything is great.. the drawer that comes out the front is really an awsome setup. never have to turn the machine around to change boards or work on it...

Anyways to get on with what i did with the cab. First this cab had the original vinyl , front and sides with TATIO on the sides. I took that all off and sanded the wood down. Fixed whatver needed to be with the bondo, sanded that down, primed the cab, sanded that down. Put 2 coats of paint, sanded that down that put 2 more.. Came out to have a very nice finish.

Added all nos artwork on both sides of the machine (took me awhile to get the side art).

Replaced the t-molding with new 5/8 blue t-molding from t-molding.com. Also added a new 3/4 blue molding to the front of the cp..

All the CPO, marquee, and bezel are all NOS (finnaly got all the pieces..lol)

Added new LED buttons, and added a LED lights over the monitor bezel, in-between the glass and monitor. Gives it a really cool EFFECT when the lights are out, Not to mention it goes great with the cab...

Sweet Jesus, that is beautiful. Wow. Awesome game, too. Wow wow wow, I would love to own that if I had any room left.

aliens was a kit there is no dedicated cab. Also my cp is smaller
then the one on klov so my CPo doesn't wrap the front but yes my cpo is original no repoduction

the side art is exactly the same as the one on klov. Also the one on klov doesn't even
have the bezel like mine. That one on klov is pretty lame for an example of what
it should be. Mine should be the poster child for it

damn! when i first started arcade collecting there was one on ebay germany, but the cabinet looked different than the one on klov. since i had only recently started, i had no idea of what was going on, so i passed. needless to say, it went for a pretty low price. one can be lucky if ONE arcade machine (and i'm not talking about a specific one, i'm talking about arcade machines in general) pops up on ebay germany per week, i'd say the average is one cabinet per MONTH. so you can imagine how slim the chances are of an aliens machine ever showing up again. i guess that's well worth another DAMN ;)
 
there were arcades in germany, but then a law was passed forbidding teenagers under the age of 18 to play the games because they were considered dangerous. practically over night all of the games disappeared from shopping centers and laundromats and were banned to special establishments. this literally killed the arcades as we knew them.

because of that, a looot of games didn't make it across the atlantic and therefore are considered extremely rare. i'd say the most common game over here in germany is centipede, finding an original nintendo donkey kong or a q*bert is like looking for a needle in a haystack. a couple of months ago, an EMPTY red nintendo cabinet sold for a little more than 400 euros (about 600 dollars). see what i'm talking about?

i have built a nice collection so far, but you need to have connections and be willing to travel hundreds / thousands of kilometers to get the games you want. the arcade scene in germany is pretty small and most of the games are in the hands of collectors which makes it extremely difficult to find new games.
 
Where are you even putting these things? You place was as full as mine last time I was there.

And...I think I'm just gonna ship you my games to restore ;-)
