I managed to find this cocktail on D.C. Craigslist for $75 and the guy is delivering it to my house tomorrow. He said that the screen is rolling and they can not get in because they don't have the keys. I'm going to drill the locks out and see what is up, but for $75 I could not pass it up. Here are a few pics they sent me:

I'll post some more when it gets here tomorrow.

Hopefully you will find a bonus inside the machine since it is locked. Maybe you will get some of the $75 refunded.

75 and he delivers? Sounds like you got a pretty good deal to me.

After talking to his wife it seems like they really wanted the space and the little bit of money it would bring. Apparently I was the only one who responded, more than likely because of the poor wording they used in the title. I feel fortunate I used a few variations because D.C. CL is usually watched over like a hawk by collectors.

Well its here and except for a few pieces of peeling paper trim and one blemish on the lower cabinet, it is in really good shape. The control panels are mint, but the monitor does have some burn in. The guy told my wife that it has been in his wife's family since new (they owned a restaurant) but has been in storage for years. He is moving to South Carolina for his job and can not take it with him.
I'm stoked and I can't wait to drill out the locks so that I can see what is up with the monitor.
I will get some pics up tonight after I get off work.

Try freezing the locks with an upside down can of canned air then pounding a screwdriver through the center, that worked like a charm on my Turbo mini and didn't damage anything but the lock.

Even try a nice big flathead screwdriver before drilling. Sometimes you can put enough torque on it that the whole assembly will turn enough to get it open.

I have the game in the hallway right now awaiting its place in my slowly growing collection. I got home and snapped pics from all sides:

continued...

I got my drill out and started at it. After a few minutes I got it drilled enough to be able to stick in a screwdriver and turn the lock:

Except for a few spider webs it was clean inside, but no coin box and the game has been set to free play:

After a little bit of tinkering the scrolling stopped! Only problem some distortion on the edges, but I hope it is because of me messing with various knobs trying to fix it:

The burn in looks a bit worse in the pics than it actually is, but it is there. I am thrilled that for $75 I have a working Cocktail. I'm hoping that with a bit more tinkering that the picture will be completely fixed.

Nice find...I've been looking for a nice make trax cocktail for a while..even though the games gets no love...I purchased a NIB make trax upright and NIB mini too from John Robertson in Canada and would love to get the third in the series to complete it...why some would ask..? Just because:D If you decide to sell or get sick of it let me know..I'd be interested in it..that one looks pretty clean on control panel and cab...

Yeah, the control panels are mint. If I ever get rid of it I will let you know. I might just replace the monitor and top to make it closer to mint condition.

I figured I would update this thread instead of starting another. I took out the monitor and was lucky enough to have the monitor diagram listed on the side of the frame. After a bit of adjusting I have this:

I need to adjust the picture slightly to the right, but I was thrilled that the pots just needed adjusting and that I don't seem to need a cap kit. As you can tell from the earlier picture it is quite an improvement.
