My $6500 CL Star Wars Cockpit :)

Quite honestly I wouldn't even consider contacting a guy asking that kind of money. To me the asking price shows the mentality of the seller.
^^^ This.
Though I guess his success proves us wrong :D
I suppose it's like walking up to random girls and asking if they want to, ummmm... jump in the sack. 99 times out of 100 you're gonna get slapped, but the one time it works...

you never know. i've haggled down people to about 1/3 of their asking price. some people acquire the games looking to flip, and don't have an interest in games and don't know much about them, so they just shoot out a high price. it's always worth checking on. the worst thing you're going to get is a no...

Exactly what I tried with this same machine. I got him down considerably, but still out of my range. I'm just glad a klover got it.

That might be more info than Jon wants me to divulge... lol

You know what's funny...guys have no problem talking about how they gave their wife a good screwing to their buddies but ask them who they voted for at the last election or how much they paid for a grail and they get offended. :)

I did not vote for Obama and I am paying $1,800 for redone Star Wars with an Amp and that isn't even my grail! I still don't understand what the big deal is about divulging what was paid for a game or a part or anything for that matter. I mean I thought the whole idea of this forum was basically information....(what is this worth?, how do I fix that?, where can I find this? How did you get that?, etc....)

Oh and you'll never catch me talking about my wife with such disrespect!

I agree, but since it's jons thread and machine, I don't think its my position to divulge such information

Are there any homes for sale in your neighborhood? What's the job market like. I need to move. You seriously score the best shit. DOT, Star Wars Cockpit (not 1, but 2).

Congrats on the pickup! Great job on the CL haggling.

Congrats on the pickup! Great job on the CL haggling.

Tons of homes for sale up here, job market is a little rough, but better than 90% of the rest of the country.

And I bought the DOT, Jon got the 2x cockpits (and a Space Ace)

Since some people value their machines more than they do their homes or their jobs, I can see where it would be bad form to ask how much they paid. I wouldn't ask a casual friend how much he makes at his job, or how much he paid for his house. If wants to tell me, fine.

I think this kind of falls along those lines.

Now that's just crazy talk. You would move to get closer to a place that seemingly had more arcades available as opposed to just getting a game shipped?

I get your point, but I certainly don't think it is the norm that collectors value their machines more than their homes or jobs. That would be the exception, not the rule I would think. Maybe I'm just wrong. I am new to this hobby. :) The comparison is a bit off though. I think it is a little easier to determine market value for homes and jobs than it is for arcades. Way more people have jobs and homes, although less these days unfortunately.

Well, I have been getting a little bored of MA and I am rather jealous of the dynamic duo out there. Plus I hear the weather is fab.

You two are amazing. Do you have photos of your collections up here?
