First off a huge thanks to gabesdad1981 who saw my signature and tipped me off to the auction. Some klovers here are just the real deal and he is. Never met or talked to him previously yet he still took the effort to direct me to the Ebay sale.

Got this for a steal in ebay. A new company starting, seemed like one of those drop it off we'll list it for you consignment deals. He did not tag it as arcade so it only got a couple of hits and the reserve was set at 50$.

The best thing they charged me 100$ to ship it from NC to northern VA!!! Did a good job shipping it too.

Pics of the system unwrapped. Came with a full board set, monitor and even the stock marquee light kit powered by pinball style bayonett lights. Have not put the power cord in yet.

And thanks to Raven and Jumpman for the parts to convert this into a Jungle King!!

Nice job on that! Looks decent. You're gonna want to stick a switching power supply in there right away. Those original Taito supplies are GARBAGE. Arcadeshop makes a nice adapter.

+1.........................

Always loved that game and Taito cabs in general, really miss my Jungle King. Nice flat top for storing things. ;)

The Taito supplies are fine once rebuilt (add heat sinks to the rectifiers). I looks like that has been addressed creatively on your machine by mounting it on the back of the coin box.... ;)
I have more problems with switchers than the Taito power supplies, in fact I just deconverted my Jungle King back to the Taito supply because the switchers (tried three different ones) were adding noise to the video and audio circuits.
My ZK, EE and now JK all are running flawlessly with the original power supplies.

I think that was a factory deal, my Qix has the BR stuck to that metal surface too.

No, but it probably should have been.
I've had three Qix cabs in the past (and a fourth I converted to Rastan), plus a variety of other Taito cabs. I haven't seen that until this pic.

So I started working on the Jungle Hunt this weekend to have it ready for the arcade party this Saturday. The power cord was literally ripped out of the machine. Replaced the power cord and vacumed all of the dust off the boards and inside of the cabinet. Checked my voltages and everything looked good.

I slowly flicked the power switch and the monitor hummed to life and the machine looked great. I press the player 1 start button and hear a OOOOOAAAAH AAAAAHHHHH! I have a Jungle King board already in the machine! So I put the control panel, and bezel that I got from jumpman in and play a few games of one of my childhood favorites before going back into the gulag of party preperations.

The game looks and works great. I will post some pics of the screen action soon. 60$ plus 100$ shipping and 10$ for a new power cord: return to my childhood Pricless.

Wow, you lucked out! I can't wait to try her out tomorrow. Awesome!

I think you're thinking about the earlier Taito games such as Crazy Climber and Stratovox. Those have a flat top whereas the Jungle King, Elevator Action, and etc have a slanted top.

As an example, my Crazy Climber looks like a tribal African woman walking back from the river with the water jug up on top.

Yep here some photo's

I love my Crazy Climber flat top and wish more companies did this. It would be soooo much easier to decorate the arcade if everyone took hints from Nintendo and early Taito.
