OK, I've been a member here going on a year, in the near future, and have read many threads of people having some great pick ups on games. Now, I have the best weekend pick up of my short time in this hobby to share. Oh, and the odd dollar amount is because I bought lunch for myself and my buddy who helped me get these today....just in case anyone was wondering.

Found one of my grails that was on my secret "wants" list, you know that list in the back of your mind, telling yourself if I find such and such game, I'm getting it and I'll figure out later where I'll have room for it. Well, that has happened to me, and I couldn't be happier. Great people to deal with, very nice, and helped me get one of my grails to bring back home.

It's not perfect or mint, but I was extremely happy with the deal. It has the 6100 monitor, game fires up and plays. Needs some maintenance done to the monitor(cap kit and such), flight yoke needs work, travels left to right with no problem, up and downs are out. And the artwork is surprisingly in decent shape, and it still had the original keys. HUO for the last 14-15 years, and now it will reside in my home for many years to come.

To make the day even better, a high school buddy contacted me about this Street Fighter 2 CE, and picked that up as well. It fires up, but the monitor is dead. Between this and the Star Wars, I have enough to keep me busy for the next few months. It's been a great day.

are those magic sliders under the Street fighter 2 cab? lol awesome.

I don't think the Z Back Dynamo cab is very common. Looks pretty cool. good score man congrats

They're under the Star Wars as well.

And yeah, the Z-Back is one of the best Dynamo cabs out there (in my and I think many others opinion)... I hope to have one soon.

Thanks for the burger and soda Mr Sterling, that was a good time. The Z back Dynamo is very cool, I sold a SF2 just like it before but it was blue = not wierd. And it was heavy... happy gaming my friend..

I didn't know if I should out you with the credit for helping, or let you remain in the shadows like you seem to enjoy :)

Thanks again big time for your help with these, and yes there will be happy gaming!

And yes, Magic Sliders(or a version of) under almost every game in my house, the Final Lap 2 is the only outcast, lol. Those are a must have for moving games around inside.

Not sure about the original paint on the Z cab, I'll have to investigate that further. It seems to be the color that sticks in my mind from BITD, but it could have just been that long since I've seen one close up. After talking to my buddy I got it from, that Z cab has been home owned for the last 10 years as well. I'm pretty happy with today's deals :D

And Grbgmen, you know how I feel about this game, don't hold your breath waiting by the phone, but remember that I do have you on speed dial :)

Indeed, I too have such a list :) Nice score.

I forgot to ask my initial question when starting this thread:
So what would be the most comfy seat to install in this cab? Maybe something that has a soothing vibration massager? Oh, and mine will have a mini disco ball hanging at the top, gotta role in style :)

Don't send the mob, I'm just messing around, this will be cared for as best that I can :D

Its not a true conversion if you dont install the phone in it. You could use the vector monitor as a coffee table and the boardset as wall art, or you could just play it and maintain a beautiful piece of history.

This game came out of a trailer home, which had poor voltage issues, I am really glad you saved her....and it was in there for 15 years she said so its not really HUO, its more like THUO.

It's good that you went all out and spent $7.90 for lunch. Good help is hard to find!

Congrats on the pick-up.

lol, very true. His call on the burger and soda, sounded good, he knows I owe him big for this, and will hold it over me for years to come I'm sure :)

Z-Backs are typically red laminate-like sides. Not so much painted. Like Neo Geo MVS's. Search z-back in these forums, we've discussed these bad boys a lot. :p

This Z back is the original red, and it is in damn nice shape considering. I hope you slap the
Capcom diamond plate cpo on that thing, I prefer those....

As for the burger and soda, mine cost a whopping $3.50, so dont let him think he went out and splurged for the good beef, my burger still had marks where the jockey was hitting it (caddyshack)

Is that the original paint on that Z cabinet? I have 2 of them and they both have a different orange than that IIRC.

As others have said, the Z's came with red laminate on the sides. If you're seeing those sides as orange on screen your computer monitor needs a cap kit. :) If you meant the cp that looks orange in the shot, it's a yellow/black variant of the artwork, I believe sent out in the earliest conversion kits, but there's been some discussion back and forth on timing. There's a full set of art like that, I picked one up from MilitiaMan and really need to get around to scanning it.

Great pickup OP, sounds like you'll be very happy with both of them. One of these days I'll have a Z, one of these days. How much room is on the inside of that thing? I've been contemplating putting a 6-1 switcher in the cab I have the fighting games in right now but I don't think I'll have enough room (damn you triple stack boards with your space-hogging), though from the looks there may not be a whole lot of usable real estate inside the Z's either.

I'm not the OP, but I can confirm that space in the Z-Back can be pretty tight. Off the top of my head, I can squeeze maybe two CPS2 A+B boards side by side on the pull out drawer and that's it. There isn't a lot of room vertically to "stack" boards or to have the boards laying on their sides.

Z-Backs can be really cool...and really irritating at the same time. The size and style are cool and the pull out drawer is great. Getting to the back of the monitor/powersupply/anything under the drawer is a PITA.

If your monitor and power supply are rock solid to the point where you won't have to touch either for a couple of years, these cabinets can be really, really great. :)

Not to thread jack. :p
