...finally ended tonight. I first played Gyruss when I was 20 years old, and have played through out the years whenever my travels brought us together. After discovering Mame a good while back I was able to play regularly, but it just wasn't the same or as satisfying as playing on a real Gyruss arcade machine. Then a little over 2 years ago, I was able to bring one home and have been improving, slowly but steadily ever since. Tonight, Earth and beyond! Made it to stage 32 and a new personal high score of 349250. :fest30:

Nice! Were you disappointed there was no parade or anything? Not even and intermission? Not even a little congratulatory blurb of text? Doh.

Interestingly, it starts back over at Neptune, but 3 warps. When you clear the first Neptune wave, it plays the intro music again (the game starts at 2 warps to Neptune).

Congrats. I have not made it to Earth yet. Best score is about 166K. I'll be restoring mine in the Spring so maybe playing a clean machine will improve my abilities?

Yeah, it was a little anti-climatic. After it started back over I felt like I could make it a second time but was completely distracted because I had finally done it for the first time. Then when I came in to the house to brag of my accomplishment, of course everyone was asleep, except my 16 yo son. He was on the Xbox playing Black-Ops. He said, "Congratulations, ready to move up to games from this century?" This morning when I told my 7 yo daughter, I thought she would be a little more excited as she plays in the arcade more than anyone else but me. Instead she was disappointed that I went and played after she had to go to bed. Thank goodness for KLOV, you people get it. :)

Congrats! And yeah, we get it cuz we're old. Kids have a totally different mindset...like you're still listening to the radio and haven't gotten a TV yet.
