Okay, time to get pumped about this new warm weather and the new season!

Now that the long winter and those temps in the teens are behind us, I'm looking forward to fixing some of the projects in my arcade.

Galaga is getting the old overlay removed and a new one installed. It will also get some tmolding. I'll be making a System16 to JAMMA adaptor and...

....A JAMMA to Chinese Hero adaptor. My generic 25 inch JAMMA is going to get my Chinese Hero kit. I have room for one more dedicated classic, I'd like that to be TRON but I'll see what cool classic dedicated cab comes my way this year. The movie made TRON more common but also more expensive. Such a cool cab. I've gone a little TRON crazy lately, buying the newer light cycle toys. I missed out on them in 1982, so I'd better get these while I can!

Omega Race's linear powerboard needs a complete rebuild (missing 12V for the lights). The WG V2000 HV section has taken out every HV diode that I've thrown at it, so something is up there too. OR is basically down at the moment, a good starting point is the powerboard, I think. I hope some members here will help me assemble a mouser component order. I'll do what I can from the PDF.

I also have a really poor Pac-Man burned tube that I'm going to save and make into a spare monitor. Arcade tubes are just too hard to find to toss it. I'll post in the forums for a G07 CBO chassis, they are really common so it shouldn't be difficult. It'll need a deluxe rebuild kit, but that won't be a big deal. If this years game is missing a monitor I will be prepared.

Night Driver is getting a new speaker. I'm also going to hack in an amplifier from a set of powered speakers to get my audio back. Did I mention that I bought a set of fuzzy dice as a topper?

While it's been cold I've been trying to find some vintage tabletop games to fill in for the arcade games I won't be able to own. I have found Spiders, Crazy Climber, Qbert, and Frogger. Today Entex Stargate came in. Interested? Google 'Entex' They all use my favorite 80's advanced home technology: VFDs! All of them had problems, they're pretty rare beasts. The Stargate that I got today wasn't receiving power. I broke out my meter and found the problem was isolated to a tiny powerboard AC plug. Basically the plug is a simple electrical switch. Pluging in an AC adapter cuts power from the batteries, battery mode is enabled when an internal piece of metal moves back into place when the AC plug is removed. The metal was bent too much and it had an open connection. The easy fix was to simply bridge the connection with solder since I won't be using the adapter. It works great now and I am thrilled. Long story, eh? Picture attached.
