My 11yr old son pointed out an oddity on my Tutankham........

.......Take a look at the control panel art, specifically around the left joystick:

Zoomed in a little:

My son the other day was looking at it and said, "Dad - the East and West are on the wrong sides!" I took a look and sure enough he was right. My first thought was that it was printed backwards, but everything reads correct on the art. I never paid attention to that type of detail back when I played the real deal in the arcades. Funny thing is, I was 11 years old when this game first came out and my son at age 11 now noticed it - weird. I've only had this machine a few months and always distracted by the fact that the holes aren't lined up correct and never noticed the East/West....

Anybody else have one like this?

I looked on KLOV and that one looks good - holes even properly centered, too....

There's always a little fun in the details...

Probably a reproduction or a factory second. I was fixed on the holes that were not centered and probably never would have noticed the E/W issue.

Bezel glass

Thanks for the feedback guys....

I figured it was more likely a factory second with the holes being 1/4"+ off center. It may have been an early build - I need to open the back up and check serial number out of curiosity.

Any idea how many of these were built?

I forgot to ask about the bezel glass (mine is missing):

All the pictures I have seen are just regular clear glass (no tint or artwork), is that correct?

I need to buy a piece, what are the dimensions of the glass?

3/16" thick tempered glass?

The joysticks are pretty responsive, but probably could be lubed up - grease, oil/spray recommendations?

Thanks again for the input...:)

The Ikari Warriors CPO (SNK original) is also wrong with regard to directions:

They're labeled: 15°, 30° and 45°, instead of the correct 90°, 180° and 270°.

I think it was the Japanese trying to sabatoge American children's math and geometry education...
