Well as luck would have it, I found this thing local. Pretty cool, and I didn't realize that DK cabinets were so light to move, compared to other cabs that I own..lol.

The side art is completely gone. Looks like someone tore it off. But the Bezel, Marquee and Control Panel is in pretty good shape. I was surprised.

It needs the Molding replaced, the joystick is shot... it doesn't even spring back at all and the game comes up but the monitor has a roll to it, so I'm going to be using the search function soon for troubleshooting. Also I noticed it had a switcher in it instead of the original power supply. But anyways, some TLC will be required to get this back into 100%. But thought I would share.

Not to shabby for $100 if I do say so myself. And the best part was that is was Local, no driving out of town, which I usually have to do, so that was a good find for me there...

Nice!!!

Very nice pickup!! For a 100 bucks you cant go wrong a little fix and some cleaning and your all set.Congrats!!,Mike

Thank you. I was pretty stoked about it. I got the roll to quit, but the monitor is going to need some work as it's wavy as hell. But for the price, I can't complain to much...

$10 cap kit will likely be all the monitor needs.
A super nice find!

I would leave the switcher in, but be sure to check the 5v and adjust if it's off any.
I personally prefer switchers over the old linear supplies anyway. They aren't original but consume less power and are less likely to frag your PCB upon failure.

Yep after looking at Dokerts Flowchart... I will start with a cap kit. Already ordered one from Bob Roberts!!

you should probably order the deluxe cap kit and do the audio amp on the monitor too.

Well worth the $100. All of those things aren't too bad too difficult to fix.

I bet the joystick can be salvaged with a good cleaning and oiling. No need to spend $ on a new one.

Also, notice that the dust ring is there. :) Just a should out to my thread about that.

Good pickup for sure. I sold my DK a while back and I don't miss it that much. I was very frustrated with the game. Had a hell of a time with the infamous 3rd elevator stage. I finally managed to clear it just before selling the game. If it was me, I would probably chop shop the DK parts and put a Mario Bros. kit in it. I wouldn't have a problem with that since the side art is already gone. If it was still there, I would probably fix up the game and sell it. Looks like a good project. CPO looks a little rough, though.

Agreed. I would also remove the monitor from the cab to remove the chassis if you've never done a 20ez before. There are a lot of wires to remove and its easier to see where they go if you take the monitor out.

I kind of thought I should, so I did order the deluxe, I've worked on other monitors,Hanatrix,K7000,vision pro,G05 and such. But I've never touched one of these. So it should be interesting. Like another said I will take it out of the cab. And it looks like a pain in the ass to remove the chassis. Either way, though I'm just glad the monitor works. And what is with the lame monitor power cords on these things. They look like lamp cords and it plugged into a 100v outlet at the bottom of the cab. I understand about the 100v deal, I guess I wasn't expecting a small lamp cord to run the monitor is all. Lol.

Yea and like someone else mentioned, after moving my Street Fighter II Z-Cab,Crusin USA stand up, Circus Charlie, Galaga, Alien Syndrome, even the Asteroids Cocktail, this cab was a welcome surprise in the moving department because it was so light. Surprised me. (and my wife who helped move it into the basement). As she wasn't thrilled about helping me move the Crusin USA from last time....lol.

Its tricky at first to work on the chassis , but once you figure it out its easy . I used this guide and it was easy .
