I am sure I am not the first to do this, but I think this mod is pretty clever. Remember, I am a newb here! I bought a 1" C-Clamp from Home Depot and gently attached a cherry switch the coin rejector. Wired it up to the NC side of the switch and viola! Now pressing the coin rejector gives you credits!

I am pretty happy with it because I did not want to modify the cabinet at all.

Very nice. I've done the same thing with hot glue for PC-10/VS cabs. The beauty of hot glue is it's easily reversible although you have to get the placement/distance just perfect because my kids had a tendency to push the reject button full force and pop the switch off of the coin mech.

I need to come up with something like this for my Atari football, thanks for the idea.:)

I've found that using a switch with a wire on it compensates by deflecting the force that would normally unseat the switch, good stuff!

Schoeps, you are my favorite newb, ever! That is a killer idea that I'm going to see if I can get working on all of my machines!

Oh, and, where can someone buy those switches with the force-suppressing wires on them???

I got to go to The Home Depot and get some of these clamps for $1.89!!!

Most any pinball parts site will have them

Cheers!

I've rigged 'em up like that before, but never thought to wire the switch backwards like you did. That's pretty damn smart.

I had to re-read that and re-look at his picture to understand what you said. I had never looked closely at his picture before. He has the switch normally closed, and wired as such. That is brilliant!

And thanks, Radish!

thanks for the kind words! I like the c-clamp so I don't have to modify and of the existing hardware. The switches are Cherry swithces that typically come with Happ buttons. The clamps are made by "Husky" and labeled 1". Works surprisingly well!

I just wired the coin switch the 2p start button on my VS. Push it once to insert coin then press player one. Or, press it twice for a 2p game. Works great.

yeah, unfortunately there is no easy way to do that on a punchout ;)

Very clever! I hate having to open up my Dig Dug cabaret coin door to add credits. This is a nice alt. I have cherry switches, clamps and zip ties in-house too, so I'll see what works best!

Also... Does anyone know what these are called? I found them on a site that calls them "Twin Spade Terminals" but can't find them on Newark.com with that wording...?

Great way to not hack a harness when doing this mod. Attach this to your switch wiring, and then just plug the original harness plug onto this added male spade that you plug onto the original coin switch. ;)
