MX5000 (formerly Jungle Hunt) monitor completely red
I'll be picking up a machine tonight that I looked at briefly on Monday - an MX5000 board in a converted Jungle Hunt cabinet. Because I haven't yet had a chance to examine it, I don't yet know the monitor manufacturer and model, though I will add these when I have them. Perhaps Taito used semi-standard monitors in these cabs?
I decided to go ahead and post now because the problem is one that quite a bit of searching has yielded few results on - the monitor is completely red. According to the owner, he left the room briefly while a friend was playing, and the screen simply went red. He also indicates that the sound is still working (indicating that the PCB is okay), but I'll pull it and double-check in my working cabinet.
Anyone heard of this? From what I've read, missing colors seem to be the result of bad caps or transistors on the neck board, but it seems odd that both green and blue would go out at the same time.
Thanks in advance.
