Hey peeps,

So due to space limitations and monitor issues I have decided to create an MVS SuperGun setup. I am partially familiar with how a SuperGun setup works but would like to have suggestions from anyone who currently has one. I plan on making a two player setup which is pretty straight forward but I would like to output to a PVM. Does anyone know how I would go about this?

I believe PVMs support multiple inputs including RGB. If I thats the case you shouldn't need a signal converter. If you want to use on a TV, I suggest a JROK cobverter. Also, the multislots need a lot of power so get an appropriate power supply. Just get Neo controllers to plug diictly into the board. This should be easy.

...what you typed while you think its a good idea is not.

Mvs is basically jamma well jamma plus stereo audio and added buttons.

Just consolize the mvs. Or make a test bench with a properly wired adapter.

Oh and should have gotten a 4 slot they have joystick ports stock.... Just sayin :/

I see. I have an 2 Slot which does have the joystick ports I think, if anything the supergun should accommodate for that. My only issue is trying to find a Neo Geo controller. Any recommendations?

A 2-slot should be fine, but if you go with a 1-slot, use the big board with the metal cart guides (MV-1). You can switch between stereo and mono, has controller ports, supports memory card...just an awesome one slot. Get the NEO SD cart so you can play all of the games without changing out carts.

You can use a controller for a Neo-Geo home system. There are two different style joysticks, and a pad. The first stick came with the cartridge system, the second stick (sometimes known as the "kidney bean") with the first two generations of CD system, the pad with the CDZ. They all have the same pinout.

They will all plug and play with the MVS motherboard, which was designed to accommodate the super-rare Mahjong controller.

So I've nailed down sourcing/making my own Neo Geo Sticks.

I am kind of in limbo if I should move forward with a SuperGun setup or just buy a CMVS from Aliexpress.

I also do not know if I should go with a MV-1B or a MV-1FZ.

Neither have Joystick ports or stereo out natively. See this list for MVS board differences:

Hard MVS is a great resource too, but the page has been down for a while. You can still look at it thanks to the magic of the wayback machine:

MV-1B isn't a good choice as it's a soldered BIOS, so hard to Unibios

I have a MV-1FZ which is similar but has a socketed BIOS.

MV-1C is popular for console conversion because of the vertical cartridge port, but has soldered bios as well.

I've decided on the MV-1C but I might just get the CMVS off of Aliexpress.

Consider that the people who produce these CMVS units steal and distribute the Unibios without paying it's author. The Programmer Razoola is well known in the Neo community.

If you aren't up to building your own, consider at least donating to the author.

That is one thing I noticed, I saw that the CMVS had Unibios but it did not have the same label as the one that Razoola produces and being from Ali I assumed it was pirated/stolen. If I pick up a CMVS I am also going to pick up a Unibios for my 2-Slot when I do my battery mod. Raz does good work so the least I can do is donate. :)
