possible?

I'd like to have a cabaret cabinet house stock neo geo mvs-2 hardware.
Always wanted a mini neo geo, can't find one, and I don't have the room for a full size mvs-2. plus i want to avoid mame at all costs. So although it won't be in a neo geo cabinet, it will still be authentic in terms of not being emulated.

i've never worked with a neo geo cab or its components, so any input on how to make this happen is appreciated. Here are a few questions that initially come to mind:

1. Will it all fit? I'd like to mount the led credit lights in the cabaret cab as well. even replace the cabaret's under CP marquee with the light up mvs-2 marquee.

2. If I wanted to just buy parts separately, what would I need for a complete setup besides the 2 slot mobo, psu, etc.?

3. Can I hook an LCD into MVS-2 hardware? Or am I stuck with an arcade CRT?

and 4. I saw different bios. US, JAP obviously, but also like Unibios. Not sure what all this means.

I've tried posting at the Neo Geo forums, but the moderators have yet to grant my thread clearance.

Thanks to everyone who will try and help out.

You could pretty much fit it in to any cabinet, you just have to do the wiring and ad the extra buttons.

As for parts, the MVS uses a different style harness than a JAMMA. It's pretty close to the same, but has a few extra buttons, and is stereo sound, instead of mono. Bob Roberts sells one that is excellent quality (just got mine from him a few months back) and as far as I've seen, he's the only one selling a loaded MVS harness.

You could just go with a single slot system though... most of those are standard JAMMA with one extra button (a lot of older games don't even use the 4th button)

Most people don't like LCDs in their cabs... you CAN do it, but will need a CGA to VGA converter.

I'm not 100% up on the bios versions, but mostly some allow for options such as blood, or multiple languages and support for the AES carts (with adapter)

one of the best resources I've found for most MVS info is http://www.hardmvs.com

I want to trade my 6 slot cabinet for a mini, once I'm finished putting it together. I like the Mini a lot...

most people complain the monitor is too small to play on, and I can see where that comes from, for sure.
